From 2 sources now. Hard to see which club would be interested im assuming a SA side with pick 13 or 14.

Maybe Sydney moved up for him as a guarantee but they dont pick alot of SA boys.

Maybe Goldcoast

By looking at what Twomey said id predict the draft order to be this so far.

1. McCluggage (ess)
2. Mcgrath (Gws)
3. Ainsworth (Bris)
4. Bowes (GC suns)
5. Sam Petrevski Seton (Carl) - cant believe they would go down this road
6. Tim English (GC suns)
7. (Freo)

Then after that it looks a little unclear. Freo would be disappointed to miss both WA boys. IMO the best 2 kids would still be on the board which i wouldve loved to have got both.
i think Carlton will seriously look at Brodie, Taranto or SPS @ 5. It's hard to predict who they take...they need all 3.

my tip is they go Brodie to pair with Cripps & Curnow for the future. I dont think they are ready to add an SPS type just yet.

Almost certain Carlton go with Brodie. Doubt Gold Coast let him get past 6 either.

How many inside Mids can 1 team have though? we saw Cats just trade Caddy because dangerfield negated his effectiveness, would Brodie and Cripps have similiar negative impact? Not that I want to help the filfth.

Sydney had Kennedy, Jack, Mitchell, Hannebery, Parker.

.

Kelly, Dea, Green, Barrett, Richards = a lot of DFA coming in
Add Tippa and McKenna as upgrades.

That said, we have 12 list spots free.
pick 1, 20, 29, 41 & a rookie + the 7 above
Would only go 1 additional DFA after Kelly and Dea tbh. Don't want to go full richmond and recruit a bunch of average mature agers and not have any young prospects coming through late in the draft.

my thoughts too.
Dea & Kelly + one of Barrett or Stewart.
I like Barrett but Stewart is proven at AFL level. And KPF depth would be better.
Barrett is young though. Would essentially be like adding another draftee for free.

Reading about Taranto the clubs see every player for Sandringham to try and get 8 1% a game and he averaged 14. He is still my favourite in this draft and is still my pick to end up the best player from this draft

How surprised would you be if we took him at 1? Really like him

Is Barrett actually any good though - not being able to get a game in GWS's midfield doesn't necessarily mean he's terrible, but doesn't mean he'll be our Priddis type?
I've seen him first hand a few times over the years. He does look like he'd make a good AFL inside mid, but he doesnt scream elite.

Priddis is quite clean with his hands in packs, whereas Barrett is less so. What Barrett gives you is a fairly strong body, endurance and a lot of tackling and intensity around the ball.
I like Barrett for depth and potential. As a DFA (i.e. freebie) he's certainly worth a couple of years on our list.
If he can translate NEAFL to VFL to AFL, he could be good as Cripps @ stoppages. Its a long shot, but even @ 1/2 the player Cripps is, he'd be a decent player who'd probably put 7-10 years in.

Barrett could become quality depth in a squad battling for a premiership (20-26 range), and at 20yo he still has some development ahead of him

Green brings a huge annoyance factor to the opposition with his socks down short step fist pumping goals.

Two times leading goal kicker for Lions.

Get him if we can afford him .... I thought he was asking top dollar at the Lions.

Reminds me of a better version of Anistazio in the VFL. Good to have that annoying little forward pocket.

Personally I think we'll go McCluggage at 1, so with McCluggage, Parish, Z.Merrett, Zaharakis all being better as a 2nd possession player in congestion clearing the pack, a player that is just a big bodied contested ball winner who only needs to be able to move the ball by hand at most 5-10m and lays a tackle on his similar opponent (so pretty much a Priddis type player) would do reasonably well.

Priddis and Kennedy are probably the best two of this kind of player as they're more than simply a big body (Kennedy in the first half of the Grand Final was just phenomenal to keep Sydney in the game) but if Barrett is a 20y player with the right build and attitude than I'd be pretty happy if we picked him up. Then add a 2nd inside leaning mid with 20, 29, or 41 (depending on who falls at those picks) and we might be looking OK for the post-Watson era.

X.Richards I think would be 'ok' but I wouldn't think it's a major loss if we miss him.
