Other clubs laying down massive cash to entice players. We give up two first rounders for Treloar. We got ****** over. campaigner has OP and is goooooone
That's no way for a man of the church to be talking about a guy who's playing through injury for the club.

I think Roos nailed it with his discussion on our list management- so many positions don't appear to have been addressed in the best / most effective way

I can't work out if Bucks can coach or not - he made the prelim w a great team that was hamstrung by injuries in 2012...did the players get us there it him?
Now I can't tell bc I just don't know the true caliber of the players we've got or if we even have the right players

I just hope this internal review encompasses recruiting / trading (and player value)

I appreciate your boldness wicksy... A very out there idea. Peraonally I'd rather lose a toe than treloar. But agree we need to be bold at this time. No more mature age top ups

I've been saying that for 4 years.

So trade Adams, Treloar and see what we can get for Pendles.

You guys are hilarious.
Same people criticise the players for not caring enough about the club, but are willing to get rid of club legends for a stab in the dark first round draft pick. Pendles will go down as a club legend!

Pace and a tall for me. I'd take S Reid and between him, Moore, Ben Reid, Goldy, Dunn, Scahde and Cox we can hold down our KP post's for next year when Lynch becomes available (though how available he actually is I question). Draft tall, Fogarty, Brander, Sutherland, McLean all these marking talls who can develop and grow to partner Moore in the future.

Being at the game yesterday I watched us, slow, boring 'crabs'! We need someone with pace who will be a danger on the outside and can run and generate movement. Geez how I wish Freeman's body wasn't made out of tissue paper, he could've been exactly what we needed. Jarryd Lyons was another I really liked last year but he wandered of to the GC instead. So what about Charlie Cameron from Adelaide? Young, quick, neat skills and able to kick goals. I have no idea where his contract sits however he would certainly fill a need and inject some much needed pace and energy to our forward half. I'd be trading Phillips, Ramsey, Smith, Blair or bundling them together for second rounds for either this year or next year.

Has anyone actually said to do all 3? Or any combination of the above like you suggest?

My comment was trade Treloar for a 1st rounder to give DeGoey a chance to grow and service another area that we lack.
I would do the same trade substituting Adams for Treloar but with the knowledge that far less would come back our way.
I don't agree with trading Pendles but can see why other's would suggest it given we're light years from a flag and his days are up in 3-4 years.

Teams who win premierships are bold and cut throat with their list strategy.
The Adams/Treloar midfield is not working... Yesterday, Hawthorn scored 63 points from turnovers. We scored 14.
In the first quarter alone, Adams had 13 possessions.... 10 of those were clangers. That is an utter disgrace and if we want to be a premier team in this league, we can't afford to continue what we're doing.

I love how people choose to laugh at posters that have suggestions on how to improve our side.
Look at the NBA... Nobody is expendable. If a club is rebuilding, they don't stuff around.
If we're not in a rebuild, then we need 2 elite KP players in the 22-25 year old age bracket.
Without trading what we have in abundance (midfielders), how do you anticipate filling that need?

Ridiculous... The players have it all on their terms.
If they want a trade, their contract means nothing. If they don't want to move, they point to their contract.
They have clubs over a barrel and it's bulls***.

Our league light years behind American sport in this regard and is actually laughable.

It does. It includes the full football department.

My gut tells me Bucks keeps his job if they can't get a big name coach.
They should ask Roos, Clarkson or Longmire and if they can't get them just give bucks a year extension. Would rather keep bucks than get caracella.

I feel as though someone needs to be the voice of reason through this madness that this thread has turned into...

Regarding Trading Treloar: Absolutely shocking idea. We are going to get rid of our second best player for what reason exactly? Via Player Ratings he is currently the 10th rated player in the AFL. Players who are ahead of him include Danger, Selwood, Sloane, Ablett, Martin, Cotchin, Bontempelli, Pendles and Neale, so unless you plan on trading up into one of those players, moving him on will only weaken our list. The bloke is 24 and picked Collingwood out of any club in the AFL, he wants to be here, its just insanity.

Regarding Trading Adams: Yeah, great idea, lets trade away our only quality inside mid who is 23 years old because he doesn't have consistent kicking skills (I did mention he was an inside mid right?). The bloke has 1 or 2 bad turnovers a game and everyone goes into hysterics yet they ignore the list cloggers like Broomhead, Ramsey and Langdon who turn it over just as regularly in much worse places and provide so much less. Adams issue is he tries to kick like Buckley, sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't, but you can't blame is desire and drive to win. Adams DE is 69.9%, thats higher than Martin (61.9%), Dangerfield (66.2%), Sloane (69.2%), Bontempelli (68.8%), Cotchin (66.3%) and so on and so on, you get the idea.

We are going to end up with probably a top 3 pick this season. We are going to end up with probably a new coach next season. Lets not blow up our young core of midfielders just because Adams had a down game (has regularly pumped out 30+ games this year) and Treloar isn't Dayne Beams (Still currently rated top 10 in the comp...)

If we traded those two we would be the laughing stock of the AFL.

RE: Adams.... 14 possessions in the first quarter... 10 clangers. That's not 1 or 2 turnovers.
Let me ask you.... Given our current list profile, if GC offered a trade of Tom Lynch for Treloar, would you do it?

As much as I shudder typing this, I think we should take a leaf out of Carlton's book. 1 year contracts for coaches. Bring in a replacement for Buckley and if there's no noticible improvement in on field structures in that 12 months look for someone else.

We missed the boat on Bolton, he's going to be a ripper of a coach. Carlton's list is still bog average, but they're the most disciplined team in the league structurally imo.

Adams had a shocking 1st Q i agree, but he ended up with 11 clangers which meant he only had 1 the last 3. Not to mention this is an exception to the rule rather than a trend regarding Adams. Previous weeks he had 3, 4 and 4, his next highest games were a 7 and a 6. Adam's turnover rating is wildly overstated.

RE; Treloar, Obviously yes of course i would if it was a straight swap, just as if Richmond offered Martin or GWS offered Cameron i would, but that offer isn't coming. If we were to trade Treloar we would pull in something like a First Rounder and Seb Ross, or a First and Lachie Hunter, and thats a best case scenario.

In any trade, the team who trades away the star player always looses the deal because star talent is so hard to find...

Am I the only person that wants a new coach but one that hasn't done the top job before, we could end up with beveridge or someone like that and it would be a good result if so. Let's all face it the club probably needs a full rebuild

Yes I went through the last 8 pages or so and all three players different people wanted to trade. Suggesting we trade those 3 is ridiculous and stupid.

At the same time though or were people only suggesting to trade one of them?

Yeah but we're not missing star quality. DeGoey is going to be a star.
Our list profile is hugely out of kilter and needs to be fixed before we can go anywhere.
It'd be like having a starting 5 of Curry, Paul, Westbrook, Irving and Jeff Teague. Surely you trade one of them for a centre right? You might lose the trade but it's done on a needs basis.
