Essendon no chance for Shiel by the sounds of it.
That would be great!

Can’t Roughead just walk to us next week as delisted free agent? I’m assuming he’s not under contract and would be delisted anyway?

Apologies if this has been brought. Can’t be assed traulling through 500 pages!

I’d be interested to know what was our plan going in to trade week and if that was badly derailed by the Beams trade, I’d be dissapointed to think we lost site of some key figures being side tracked and played by Brisbane.
May should've been in our focus from the start.

Wouldn't be surprised if there was a conspiracy between Melbourne and Brisbane to create this 'distraction' in order to keep our eyes off of May.

I'm starting to sound like Alex Jones now :p

this is an old tweet, the age themselves have already reported the deal broke down.
TD has posted that before as well.:p

I dont mind the club not making an irrational trade based on emotion. Two firsts straight up is batshit crazy.

What I do care about is what it has cost us in terms of other targets.

Assuming of course that there were other targets we were interested in AND could afford.

Why are we very average at the trade table?

Genuinely curious.

We're not. It's media driven hyperbole that posters in here eat up.

In recent seasons we have recruited Howe, Dunn, Adams, Treloar, Jamie Elliott, Hoskin Elliott, Greenwood, Mayne, Aish and Crisp through trades or free agency and we traded in the picks that netted us De Goey, Sier, Grundy and probably others.

Every single one of those players is at best a best 22 player or at worst was a big part of us getting into and nearly winning a grand final with a very young list. Several are top line players and among the best at the club.

Yes, Murray is a drug cheat. But he was having a very promising debut season and was mostly a hit until then. The outcome was unfortunate and had nothing to do with our trading. Mayne, who everyone bagged, had a role change and in the end was one of the players of the finals series and in the best 5 players on the ground in the grand final. If he stays in the same role and keeps up that level of performance, he's a genuine gun utility. The only actual flop (so far) has been Wells and he still has the time and the talent to come good.

The evidence says we are actually very good at trading and free agency picks. If the purpose of the system is to improve your squad to create a team that competes for the highest honor (surely it is?), I'd say we are one of the very best clubs in the league at it in fact.

I’m loving seeing updates to the thread and just seeing TD has posted the same tweet for the fifth time. Sums up the entire trade period for us!

I see this on my Browser:
