Surely North has a shitload of capspace, are u guys interested in any big fishies?

Don't think so, the only one we have been associated with is Caddy and I wouldn't call him a big fish, he is just a slightly more mature kid.

We just finished our contractual commitments with Hale, reportedly around $450k per year and we just de-listed Urquhart who was on $350k per year so we have some cap space to throw away, especially if Caddy ends up going to Geelong and we just draft a kid instead.

What is it you guys are after? if anything, if you get caddy i suppose Ziebell gets a wingman, with bastinac on the outside your midfields set up for the future. Goldsteins a gun. Petrie gun. Defender?

I think while Anthony and Gibson are starting 22 we could always use an upgrade. Caddy would push one out. I think what we really need is a tagger, not sure if any of the good ones are looking to move. We are pretty much set otherwise.

I think because we are going to get McDonald as a father-son on the cheap next year, and someone will force us to burn our 1st round pick, it is probably the window to do a trade this year, if we are going to do one at all. If it doesn't happen the kids around our pick look to be of a good quality.

From what the press conference has revealed, we aren't finished with FA.

If players want to play for us, we'll get them.

Also, St Kilda would most likely be unable to use their compensation pick for Caddy considering the pick itself is tallied and awarded when the trade period is done and dusted.

Glad to see Essendon and Port are getting trading tips from BigFooty. :thumbsu:

A token trade is fine, as much as I want to keep Gus. Upgrade 32 to 28, it could make all the difference.

If this is the case it has been an almost Hawthorn like working of system by us.

Can someone tell us how good this Jacobs is given that he is a name that has been floated. Would you package the second rounder with Gus for him?

In usual circumstances I'd consider 150 gamer and second round pick for a guy that doesn't seem to have done anything too much but if it is what is required to keep Port from grabbing Gus as a free agent and gives us access to some fairly elite talent I've got no problem with it.

I rate Jacobs very highly. I'd call him a poor man's Heppell of 2011 (i.e. HBF) in that he's more of an attacking flanker with pretty good skills. I'd say he has midfield potential, but it's hard to get a read on that without watching him closely week in week out. I'd absolutely do 32 + Gus for Jacobs.
