I'm totally copacetic about not needing Word of The Day thread...

What is goblin mode?

Goblin mode is a slang term for a way of behaving that intentionally and shamelessly gives in to and indulges in base habits and activities without regard for adhering to social norms or expectations.

The behaviors thought to constitute goblin mode vary from person to person, but it’s commonly associated with things like consuming “junky” food and media and disregarding one’s appearance and sometimes hygiene. Goblin mode is most often used to refer to a temporary state, such as one entered on weekends or after work, but this is not always the case.

Example: This weekend I went into goblin mode and ate a bucket of ice cream in my underwear while watching reality shows.

The phrase is typically used to be at least somewhat humorous and is commonly applied to oneself as a way of embracing such behavior. Since the term refers to a mode of behavior, it’s often used in phrases like enter goblin mode and go full goblin mode.

Goblin mode is often considered the opposite of and a reaction to the kinds of healthy, organized, productive habits and lifestyles that are commonly presented (and glorified) in highly curated social media content.

Goblin mode is also sometimes used in reference to people and animals who suddenly become “wild.”

Be happy for him.

Speak to a few people who know well his path to the AFL & they’ll say it’s a blessing he’s alive. He hit the jackpot doing what he did & from his socials now seems content.

I will never forget him.

Lovely kid. Shame he couldn’t get it together.

Very surprised to see Jack Carroll delisted after not garnering much attention at the trade period. If we end up having a look at DFA’s (list spots are tight I know), I hope we are interested.
Surely a good get for WC

From here I really hope we don't trade picks. There are good players everywhere top 25. I am certainly not a draft expert but giving up 2 first rounders for pick 2 is not worth it in my view. Unless someone can educate me on why we should do this?

Because on the surface level there are 3-4 exceptional players in the draft (FOS, Lalor, Ashcroft, maybe Draper/Smith) that fit the player profile Richmond desperately needs (athletic midfielders who possess a “burst” from the stoppage). If we were to retain pick 6, we would most likely be drafting a slower midfielder (Langford, Smilie) and if our current midfield were to get slower it might travel back in time.

or we draft Bo Allan at 6

My worry with drafting interstaters is you win a couple of flags and they piss off back home
yeah but there are pros and cons with that.

look at the guy leaving Saints for Hawthorn.

Another way to look at RFC is if we did not have Graham, Roili, Bolton, Baker and others would we struggle to turn over our list when required before they retire at all? Some of our vic originated players seem far too comfortable/cosy for my liking frankly, not saying they are bludgers, but I would prefer more ambition/drive and open mindedness
