Why wouldn’t a club who’s cap is gonna be tight not be interested in us covering part of a players wage? Obviously if they aren’t interested than we don’t pay, pretty simple I would have thought.

So the deal I would take 10 & 18 for Bolton, 6 & 20 (or whatever it is) for Rioli but we pay no part of their wages can't happen is what you're saying?

So if we don't get 5 first rounders for these two players and still pay part of their wages whilst playing at their new clubs, then Richmond FC is a joke of a club?

The fact Walls/Freo are already saying 10 and 18 is about right for Bolton suggests it's going to end up being more IMO. You don't put your best offer on the table this early in negotiations.

We'll get 10 and 11.

Knob 1: Goes through a list of picks Richmond will end up with by the end of the trade period, and says the Tiges will have an embarrassment of riches. Says nothing about the caller's actual question. It's as if he's saying "Sorry, Tiges already have enough. Don't be greedy. Not going to answer your question."

Knob 2 senses that they really should make some attempt to answer the caller's question, so he adds that the caller's suggestion won't fly because Richmond will be unwilling to send next year's future first back. WTF - as if that's the only option for something else that could go back the other way.

Later on, they're discussing Bolton, and saying that it will get done for Freo's initial offer (10 and 18), as that's "fair" for Shai, and if the Tiges don't like it, Bolton will be back at Punt Rd this year.
