Reminds me of the early 90s when we were bringing in players like Greg dear for their leadershipQuick recap of what Tigs said on the pod (feel free to add anything I missed, or correct anything wrong):
- Baker not a guarantee to leave. Still a good chance to sign on, more likely closer to September if he does.
- North might look at some of our leaders (Nank prior to talks of him resigning, Prestia, TT and KMac the names mentioned). We might look at a fwd (Key or HF) and/or picks if it does occur for a very good player.
- Will draft best available with out top picks (so midfielders based on the current noise around the draft).
- Grimes very likely, almost certain, to retire end of this season.
- Will potentially look at a (young) key fwd next trade season (so not the one at the end of this season).
Edit 1: If a WA club comes for a big offer for Baker (2 first round picks, with one of them being top 4 or top 5, for example), we won't push Baker out the door, but there will be serious conversations being had. Baker also loves some of the younger players, and want to see them develop, being a factor with his want to potentially staying at Richmond.
He was actually one of the better recruits , was it 95 or 2001 he had a very good yearReminds me of the early 90s when we were bringing in players like Greg dear for their leadership
God no! Watched most of their game on the weekend, he was pretty ordinary in quite a few instancesI'd love the club to be in Ed Richards ear with all the noise about an unhappy playing group at the kennel. He'd slot in beautifully on a wing. Young, fast, good mark, good left foot.
Like the entire team? He's a very good player.God no! Watched most of their game on the weekend, he was pretty ordinary in quite a few instances
Personally I can’t see baker not already knowing he’s leaving to WA.Quick recap of what Tigs said on the pod (feel free to add anything I missed, or correct anything wrong):

Has looked good at times and was quite solid when moved into the mids a few weeks ago but I haven’t been impressed with his body language lately. Seems a bit of a hothead.God no! Watched most of their game on the weekend, he was pretty ordinary in quite a few instances
How do we know their contracts don't don't get bumped up with the salary cap increase like most other contracts do though? For all the cry babies over Hops and TT and thinking the club is run by idiots. Their salary of 750K in two years will be equivalent in percentage of salary cap of what a 500K ish salary is now.
Richer than ever: Surprise top earners as 19 players crack $1m
More players than ever have been paid seven figures, overall wages hit new highwww.afl.com.au
well if we can believe they are on $700-$750K and cry over that, then why cant we believe that that is what they are getting paid? How do we know their contracts don't don't get bumped up with the salary cap increase like most other contracts do though?
People can cry if they like IDGAF, but they reckon most clubs have included a percentage boost tied to the to the salary cap increase in their contracts. Essendon supposedly have not. We may not, no one really knows.well if we can believe they are on $700-$750K and cry over that, then why cant we believe that that is what they are getting paid?

Don’t agree at all, but we are entitled to our opinions.Like the entire team? He's a very good player.
Settle downIts still worth mentioning is it not?
FWIW there was not a single mention if increases on their contracts in any report at the time or since, so I choose to believe it was pretty smart business with the longer contracts as both could have demanded more money and got it at other clubs.
You ****n take that back, you take that back right ****n now.Settle downTigerImposterMorro
You *n take that back, you take that back right *n now.
Reported, super offensive and down right mean.
We got a look at what our midfield looks like without them, absolutely destroyed in the clearances , expect more of the same without them. For all the cry babies over Hops and TT and thinking the club is run by idiots. Even consider doing that & we can forget attracting players in the future if that's how we were to treat them. We got them across as it's well know we look after & treat our players well.Don't think we'd offer much resistance to Prestia and Macca going, but there's no chance TT gets greenlit.
B&F in his first and only full season. Surely we're not even vaguely contemplating moving him on.

Thanks, I knew it was someone. My point still valid, he was highly sort after and not considered a risk.It was Sydney not West Coke that wanted our pick. They offered pick 8 amd 15.
IMO it will be a pick in the teens and steak knives (either a later pick or fringe player we like) that comes back for Baker if he goes to Fremantle.Yeah no chance we get a top 5 pick for Baker, let alone another 1st round pick on top of that. La la land stuff.
