Don’t be cheeky.

Baker is worth one 1st and Bolton the other 2.

Think it’s beneficial for both clubs. We have never burnt each other at the trade table.

Richmond will want to load up on talent before Tassie comes in. You guys are clearly not finishing bottom 4 this year so it be a good start. We need two dangerous smalls obviously.
I don't mind it, 3 picks but I'd also want a player, someone who wants to come back home to Melbourne. Anyone on their list?

We aren’t rebuilding though. Aren’t you looking at Tassie coming in as a threat for talent replenishment.
Tassie aren't hitting the draft for a few years yet, we don't need to do something stupid by trading away 2 of our best established players for the magic beans that are draft picks. Different story if Baker requests a trade, but we shouldn't be willingly sending them on their way.

CCJ was a 199cm ruck/forward. Draft range of 15-25 predicted. End of 2017 we had Nank and not much else in regards to ruck quality. Makes perfect sense we’d try for a ruck option. Of course in hindsight it was a sh*te pick … but we can all be hindsight heroes in drafting. Fact is CCJ was in the 15-25 range and that’s where he went.

More like 30+. We were talking to him in the lead up to the draft, anyone would assume we had an interest with our first 3 picks.

We also only had one forward and no back depth. We did however have two future AA small forwards on the list that year plus another two who just helped win a flag.

If Lachie Schultz is worth a 1st and a 2nd, Baker is worth at least that.

Baker for your pick 6 and 30, or 12 and 17.

Your choice.

A future first plus whatever is left over from above might get you close to Bolton.

Greetings 🖖

3 first rounders for Baker and Bolton

I think you might need to look at it this way
Would you accept that for Brayshaw & a player like Frederick

Your first rounders will most likely be #10 , #15 , - #18 and all end up another 5 picks later so
15,20,23.

Bolton is also contracted for another 4 years after 2024

It's going to be really interesting, potentially have a glut of high picks this year and have just brought in a new list manager with no personal/emotional ties to our veterans all clinging on for dear life. Could be some savage calls made.
Try these...

Reckon you could get him for free end of the year. Think it’s up in his head..not sure if he wants it. Good kick for goal though.
With Taranto , Hopper , Bolton , Martin (will play another 2 years) Sonsie , McAuliffe , Dow all inside mids Brodie would be playing VFL
He has no speed at all and every team could of had him for free but no takers

Freo only took him to get the pick#19

Yeah, they got lucky that Brodie showed up to play for a few months in 2022, but he's cooked now. There's a reason why that Freo team look so much better without him in the team.

Shai Bolton is one of those totally unique footballers who's value can't be under-estimated. He would hold a similar draft capital as Jeremy Cameron (#13, #15, #20), Patrick Dangerfield (#9, #20 + player) or Tim Kelly (#14, #24, #37 + Future 1st) if on the open market.

He is essentially irreplaceable, and I wouldn't even consider anything less than two Top 10 picks (that stayed as Top 10 picks!)

Put the cue in the rack. Time to start paying close attention to the U18's and death ride Freo. Trade Broad, Baker and cash in Graham. Gonna be a few delistings EOY.

It won't be a soft rebound for this team. Might as well tell anyone who wants to return home to bring an offer. Broad, Graham, bolton, baker etc for a pick and hopefully that's a quick regeneration so we turn late 20s and early 30s into 18 year olds, and maybe a free agent here or there, but hopefully in the top 30 we have a good 5 or 6 picks

OOC this year: Nank, Dow, Green, Ryan, Campbell, Naismith, Mansell, Lefau, M Rioli, Coulthard, Colina, Pickett, Baker, McIntosh, Smith, Trezise, Ross, Graham, Ralphsmith, Grimes, Martin, Prestia, Miller, Cumberland.

For me that's:

3+ year deal: Nank, Baker if he stays, Mansell, M Rioli, Ross
1-2 year deal: Campbell, Naismith, Lefau, Miller, Trezise, Smith
In the air (delist): Ryan, Green, Coulthard, Dow
In the air (retire): Martin, Prestia, Pickett
Dangle: Graham
Retired: Grimes, McIntosh
Delist: Colina, Ralphsmith, Cumberland

So that's at least 5 picks at this stage, with as many as 12, but that would be catastrophic for the list. I think it'll be around the 8-9 mark that turn over: Grimes, McIntosh, Graham, Prestia, Colina, Ralphsmith, Cumberland and Dow.

Of the 'pre-agents' (2025 OOC), Broad and Balta could get offers, but I think we will keep both, and neither will be particuarly interested in going...maybe Balta.

Hit Rnd 1 (or Rnd 0 ffs) 2025 with:

Gibcus Miller Brown
D Rioli Vlastuin Short
Nankervis Taranto Baker
Campbell Hopper Banks/Pickett
Martin
Balta Bolton
Mansell Lynch M Rioli

Broad Young Ross Trezise McAuliffe Sonsie Bauer Lefau Smith so on...plus new kids.

We can't take 9.picks as the last 5 or so will be in the 70s and 80s, so all we can do is hope for 3 to 4 retire/ delist Max, and the others being trades for picks within the first 2 or 3 rounds.

In the air retire and retire means we can't delist anyone unless we can get a free agent
