Have a look at Frawley who will become a FA when Lake's contract ends.

That's a croc of shi*t. You continually act as if no other player is good enough to play for the Hawthorn FC and everyone on our list are all superstars.
He has many qualities that would compliment our side, he has pace, ball carrying ability, breaks the lines and he has an elite tank. The point is moot either way, Carlton won't be willing to give up one of there better players, they don't have many to start with, and if they were, it would have to be a deal that absolutely rips us off.
Walker has disposal efficiency of 77% from 22.7 disposals.....hardly a turnover merchant.
To put it into perspective
Lewis 73% from 22.2 disposals.
Hodge 68.9% from 22.1
Smith 70.7% from 20.7
Burgoyne 72.2% from 19.7 disposals
Hill 67% from 16.3
Shiels 65.3% from 16.8
Sewell 66.3% from 20.6
Mitchell 73.5% from 28.7
Well said, thank you!
I think Walker is the exact prototype we should be looking at.
Stick him on a wing in our side and gee we look a different side.
There will come a time one day when both Lake and Gibson retire. We know that Schoenmakers is our Center half back for the next decade. But who will be our future full back? This is one area we need to fill going forward. I reckon we need to recruit at least one more young key defender within the next couple of years to develop so when the time does comes when Lake and Gibson aren't there, that player can step in and take over that role.
Bad on 2 fronts for me:Well said, thank you!

Putting a few things together of late I think that Grimley could be in our long term plans more than one of Bailey and Hale so I'm almost expecting GWS to put in a sizeable offer to Big Max.
Ellis goes and the Bailey/Ellis money would be enough for Walker.
GWS give us their 2nd round pick for Max and we give our first pick to Carlton and exchange later picks.
That's my 2 cents anyway
Actually an unrestricted free agent buddy marvellous so we don't even get a change to match another offer. If Max - while unlikely in my opinion - wants to go elsewhere, he can just walk, like Murph did last year.

How is he unrestricted when he was drafted in 2005, whilst Buddy is a restricted agent drafted in 2004.....what determines restricted and unrestricted....
Its not a straight fwd rule.
After 7 years you can be unrestricted if you are not in the top 10 players paid on the list. As Buddy is in that category and Max is not, he becomes unrestricted earlier than Franklin.
The rule was developed this way to provide an easier outlet/bigger bargaining ability for those in that middle tier, that were considered after thoughts in years gone past.
Yep, your right, cheersActually an unrestricted free agent buddy marvellous so we don't even get a chance to match another offer. If Max - while unlikely in my opinion - wants to go elsewhere, he can just walk, like Murph did last year.
Link?in today courier mail we are liking at longer. last year we went hard for Charlie Dickson. I find both these strange would be worried If I was bailey and hail they obviously don't rate them
Dipper does Adams have pace? Looked a bit of a plodder to me from the highlights I saw. Not an end to end runner - more like our current mids.
Has had a lot of injuries. Hasn't had a preseason since being at the club. Has talent but can't string games together. I'd jump if the price was right.Im not sure whats going on with Jared Polec up at Brisbane, but before the draft he was really highly rated and now cant seem to get a game at brisbane. He may be cheap which is a plus because he is a talent
Poor Adams hahaMelbourne are said to be making a big play for Adams.
Yep, I only see Lake and Schoey as keys though.
Unless Heatherly has put on an inch and can add 10 kilos, I can't see him ever being big enough to hold down a key position and we've seen how Gibbo's been handled by some of the bigger, stronger forwards.
Heatherly also has an enormous leap. Won't have a problem playing KPD at AFL level.Heatherly is 192-194cm depending on where you read it and already 87 kg so I don't think he's too undersized. It wouldn't be unfeasible for him to put on 3-4 kg over each preseason for the next two years to get him up to a decent size so I can see him (purely from a height and weight point of view) being KPD size reasonably soon. I think if you look at all of the best KPD's in the league most of them are around that size (Taylor 193 cm Glass 192 cm, McPharlin 192 cm, Lake 195 cm etc). That could be changing though with guys like Carlisle (200 cm) and even Keefe (204 cm) showing form.
That being said I have never seen Heatherly play so I am not qualifed at all to say whether he'll make it and regardless he is unlikely to play next year. I think overall though we have enough KPD's and possible future KPD's on our list with Lake, Schoenmakers, Gibson, Heatherly, Brand and Bosely.
