The only way to get both of Gold Coast's first rounders will be to give them a future first for one of them and a high-quality player for the other. One of their firsts is being traded into next year, count on it.

Wot.

I wouldn't say he's dominating. He's playing well and putting up good numbers. But he's not tearing games apart or anything like it.

And it is only the SANFL.

100%. Would have to be a great offer. Maybe you get 7 and 20 from Gold Coast for Daniel. We'll probably get two early second-rounders for Baker if he chooses West Coast, or one late first if it's Freo.

If Freo wants Shai - and they should - they can pay the **** up. All three of their firsts is the starting point. They can upgrade our 2025 second-rounder to their first as well.

Not just at you as there are several saying split it, but with who? If the draft is so even, why would anyone give up two picks for one?

His kicking is just decent.

No. Cotch was always a ball of power.

That's FOS or Lalor (or Smillie), with a side of Lindsay or Langford possibly at our second pick.
No way would we trade our future first for 1 pic when its odds on to be no 1 , I’d want 3 picks in top 20 for that

Big no to trading next years first, should be off the table.

Accepting Baker is gone, I think I've landed in the trade Daniel and keep Bolton camp. If you end up with 3 first rounders inside 15 for those 2 I think we are very well placed. Not sure I would trade all 3 but I think we need to be bold and we will get overs for Daniel, as has been stated HBF is a position that can be filled easier than others.

Something like Draper, Lalor, Armstong and Lindsay is a cracking start to a rebuild, plus a few other picks inside 35.

That idea trade our pic 1 for crows r1 (4) plus next years r1 ,,is that enough ?? I feel offers in past have been higher
In past you've got teams playing with themselves hoping to get Harley Reid or "The Hornet"/Mummys Boy.

Is Shane edwards still apart of our recruiting team?

We keep pick 1 unless the offer is to good to refuse, like overs, which as we know rarely happens.

A lot of hypotheticals but If Rioli decides he wants to join GC then 6 & 11 must be handed over. Yes, it's overs but he's contracted.
Baker if he nominates WC then they must split pick 3 (no bullshit 2nd rounders). Maybe do a deal with Freo ;) they acquire pick 3 and the Coker's get 12 and 16. Pick 12 comes to us. Eagles get baker and still have a first rounder (16).
Eagles may offer a future first instead which is very likely to be a top 5 pick.

If eagles are pussy footing around then one would hope Freo would enter the Frey and they had over Pick 12.

Picks, 1, 6, 11 & 12 and another first rounder from one club needing points for FS/Academy (say brissy)
That would leave us with 1, 6, 11, 12 & 17. Talk about turbo boosting our rebuild.

Stop dreaming. No team is handing over 6 and 11 for Rioli. Your post is rubbish.

I'm not to worried about who we get with our first pick, as the club will hopefully pick up the best player that we need, also think we will manage to get another pick in the top 10 that will add another really good player.
If we do finish on the bottom, I think it is essential to keep the start of the second round pick, as I think that could net us a first round pick for next season to add to our own pick & maybe even add to later picks as we did last season. I will be interested to see how this transpires.

Lol lol lol think hombre think. Its simple if GC want Rioli they must pay overs are you that clueless that you cant comprehend its 2 first round picks or piss off. We don't have to do anything as he's contracted, are you getting this

GC must be managing their cap a bit better these days if they’re in a position to bring Dan in.

I thought the theory was that, we would pursue great picks from them because we would/could pay part of his salary.

Richmond has the most debutant over the last 2 seasons with 12 debutants. Essendon last with 3

What players would Essendon want from Richmond for their first pick?

People need to think it is not just about when we win our next premiership, it is when do we win our nbext couple of premierships, you need to set yourselves up to win a few premierships to help win, Geelong and Collingwood where very lucky, Bulldogs coming up more likely to have a few cracks since 2016 when in 2016 they where very lucky

If we rate next years draft, and I’ve no idea how good it is, there’s no way Blair will trade out of it. If anything, he’ll look to trade extra picks in
IMO only there is at least 2 maybe 3 that are better than pick 1 this year. Plus WA have a very strong pool of players and SA have a much better one too. VM & VC always produce talent. Could develop into a very good draft.

We should have enough picks in this draft even if we hold both Rioli and Bolton to their contracts.

Depth of this year could be hard to match but high end talent could be more. At this stage. But in our phase as a club, if we are smart, the next two drafts are where we go to work. Talent levels would be off the charts and we get ahead of the Tassie team coming in.
