Not talking about pick 8 but we really need a good KPD.
You can all talk about Butters Rozee and Pickett all you want but what I see on the team sheet each week screams disaster.
Jonas,McKenzie,Clurey.
I reckon we should be looking at gems like Joshua Schache.
He is 201cms and comes from Seymour in country Victoria.

He has some baggage, being Pick 2 in the 2015 draft and has since been moved on by the Lions, to the Doggies.
A crack junior full-forward the Dogs have played him in the backline.

The Dogs will need currency if they wish to prise Lobb from Freo (who, at this stage have said no).
Therefore, they may be examining who they can move on to facilitate the Rory Lobb trade.
Could be a win, win, win situation.

Schache is a legit plod, if you can't make the dogs defence you might as well give up.

What’s your end game here? You must live a sad life if you think this is fun

Why on gods green earth would we need schache, these trade ideas are getting so bad.

Just because they are over 200cm doesn't mean they are good.

I have said for a while that Fiorini would be great for us. I rate him highly and if gold coast are gonna give him up for a 2nd round draft pick as a salary dump then it is a no brainer. we should also be looking at others we can get from gold coast as salary dumps to bring in good picks. Imagine if we could get a pick from gold coast in the 30s and then fwd it on for Rioli
There's absolutely no reason that Fiorini would come here.

There are three reasons why a contracted player might move: More money, the chance to go to their preferred state or club, the chance to get more opportunities at AFL level. Fiorini is apparently being paid $600k a year already so we definitely shouldn't offer him option 1, we obviously can't offer him option 2, and I wouldn't play him in the middle ahead of any of Wines, Rozee, Butters, Boak, Drew or SPP so we can't offer him option 3 either.

Obviously it would be nice to get a free second rounder, but players are human beings, and there's no good reason for Fiorini to pick us over clubs that may be able to offer him one or two of the above incentives that we can't offer.

Just as aside to this discussion because I don't think Schache is who we want or need. I think there is a misconception on here about what is realistic and what trading that we can do that could be to our long-term detriment.

I think getting Rioli could be to our long-term detriment and the more we pay for him the greater the risk but I'm happy to be proved wrong.

But I don't see a scenario where we get a young key defensive tall via trade that doesn't compromise our trade hand in the draft looming at a possible run at a flag in 2024-28. Which means we need to draft the long-term key back and in the meantime make do with a DFA or someone we can get on the cheap.

You can't throw everything at one player and we make this mistake consistently bringing in one player and expecting its the missing piece meanwhile everyone else gets one year older. We are just starting to see it with Ryder then Gray but soon it will be Boak, Dixon, Lycett that need to be replaced.

Any thoughts on who they might salary dump?
Fiorini
Sexton
Bowes
Atkins if they can
McPherson

they will likely be front of the queue but there will probably more behind them like Corbett, Burgess, Thompson, Holman, Day which won't be salary dump but preparing for a smaller list while clearing some salary

Jack Payne from the Lions is the one we should be targeting
Lions need picks, he’s behind Andrew’s, Adam’s and Gardiner

QLD boy admittedly, but you throw a 4 year deal on good coin and see if you can prize him out.
22 year old monster lock down defender, exactly our needs.

Draft capital wise, I wouldn’t think it would be too far from a late first, early second.

If he's behind three players he isn't worth a second let alone a first.

Never once said he would. I said i like him and he would fit in nicely and targetting gold coast players in salary dumps to get draft picks in return would be great.

Not really, just can't see clubs showing much interest in players that are delisting material. They would have to be offering some reasonable quality.
