quite the price for a small forward which IMO are pretty easily drafted.
Historically yes. And yet with 2 retirements and a couple of players moved to play midfield, we've ended up with none on our list. At least none who kick goals and are reliably fit to play.

I wonder if targeting a few small forwards with Evans as well is just hedging our bets. Or if it's a hint that SPP may play more mid minutes in that true forward/midfield spilt role along with Butters, and Rozee playing primarily mid.

Get him at the feet of Charlie with all of Charlies dropped marks, Pickett should kick 80

You underestimate Kens coaching ability.

Recruit Pickett to crumb off Charlie; oppo will setup for that; ken logic = play charlie in ruck.

Kozzie would kick 10 in a night game.

Kossie is a small forward that has kicked 40 goals in his 2nd and 3rd year in the system. Absolutely worth pick 8 and probably then some as well.
kossie at Melbourne v Kossie at port are 2 different things, you have been watching our forward entries over the past 5 years? Jake Neade wouldve kicked over 30 goals playing for Melbourne

Quinton Narkle, his management are in talks with multiple clubs.

“The Cats say he’s a required player, but he has no contract, he’s not playing.

“If there’s a suitor there, Quinton Narkle will definitely be playing for someone else next year.”

First-round Saint “likely” to join rival as Edmund delivers trade wrap on Grundy, Narkle & more

Pick 8 is for Key position and gun midfielders in my book. As good as Kossie is that's quite the price for a small forward which IMO are pretty easily drafted.
We'd be 50/50 chance at best of drafting a gun midfielder and even worse odds of finding a gun key position player.

People need to stop over rating draft picks especially when there's every chance we bust on pick 8.

We know Pickett is a gun and frankly there's not a hope in hell pick 8 gets him on it's own.

GOLD Coast could trade out multiple players next month as it looks to execute an overhaul of its pay structure.

The Suns are poised to launch a pre-emptive strike on their salary cap – freeing up money to retain its emerging young talent and to make a play for an established player in the near future.

Gold Coast poised to launch pre-emptive strike on salary cap with trade activity
Is there anyone from gold coast we would even want? I just had a look through their squad and I don't really understand who they want to trade out...most of their young group you'd imagine they're desperate to keep...and there's not that many older players that you'd imagine would be on a big contract

I would take Witts off their hands 😅 but they'll want to keep him. Ballard is interesting, but would they even entertain trading him? Maybe Alex Sexton for a proven goalscorer?

Also I realised they still have Rory Atkins on their list 😂😂😂

These are the pick 8s since 2010

Dyson Heppell
Billy Longer
Sam Mayes
Luke McDonald
Peter Wright
Callum Ah Chee
Griffin Logue
Nick Coffield
Tarryn Thomas
Caleb Serong
Nik Cox
Jye Amiss

Pick 8 is far from a sure fire hit.

Anyone who thinks that Dunkley was worth $750k for six years needs to answer who out of Rozee, Butters and Georgiades you want to get rid of in those six years to be able to afford that kind of wage.

We wouldn’t give Amon the $650k that Hawthorn was offering because we decided that offering it to Dunkley was a more prudent investment. But that extra $100k will be the difference between offering someone like Butters $600k a year on his next deal instead of low balling him with $500k and then wondering what the **** happened when he ****s off back to Victoria.

Brisbane offered $750k because Neale, Cameron and Daniher are all 28 or older and locked into deals that literally mean it’s a flag or bust for Brisbane in the next three years:

Neale (29) - signed until 2026 when he will be 33
Cameron (28) - signed until 2025 when he will be 31
Daniher (28) - signed until 2025 when he will be 31
McCarthy (28) - signed until 2024 when he will be 30
Andrews (25) - signed until 2025 when he will be 28

Now add Dunkley who wants to sign at 25 until 2028 when he’ll be 31.

What happens with McCluggage who is out of contract in 2024? Rayner who is out of contract next year?

That’s why it’s a risk for Brisbane. 2-3 years. If they don’t win a flag in that time frame then getting Neale, Cameron, Daniher and Dunkley was a complete waste of time.
Fantasia 6-8 weeks :D:D:D:D

p.s. this is definitely Janus.
i don’t use alt accounts.

Based on that list, it is more 'a miss' than not..

We were the only one who asked for him under contract.

Sydney enquired if he was interested in exploring it while contracted and it was done quickly between the two clubs.

You are correct: not a hope in hell we can get him this year for Pick 8.
However, next year when his contract expires, before simple resigning, it give him another club to contemplate.
