Keep Sam Gray as a depth player. He still managed to kick 20 goals this year as a midget KPF at AFL level.

As for 31 year old Jenkins, I'd rather start again by drafting a kid. Would be a complete waste of a recruitment unless we needed an experienced backup for a flag tilt.

Quite often I would agree but at the moment we have a lot of young mids that need to be trained to work with tall forwards, and one that doesn’t spray most kicks at goal would help that lesson settle

Of course Ken Hinkley is still our coach so kicking to a forward setup won’t happen anyway, so this thought can be disregarded

I would normally agree 100% if we had someone up forward next year to kick maybe 30 goals but all we have coming out of the goal square is 4 foot elf’s.
He be a good 1 year stand in while we develop a better option but then again that’s not going to happen under Hinkley.
So we stay as a 10 goal a game at best lose most matches and finish bottom half team.
With Goose in the side we might scrape into the 8.
I know he’s not want we want but we have nothing and there’s no development with Coke can Ken running the show.

I think Dixon, Marshall and the resting ruck is a good mix. We have the option to create chaos by throwing Westhoff/Watts around as well.

I just can’t see us ever picking him, so I don’t see why he would ever come here. It’d be Jack Trengove all over again with none of the leadership or work ethic.

For pick 100 on a 12 month contract I’d be OK with it.

A straight swap for Billy would be a ridiculously bad trade for us.

lol All we have in the forward line under Hinkley is chaos

I reckon it could be this.
AFL: Dixon FF, Marshall CHF, Ladhams fwd/ruck backing up Lycett.
SANFL: Maybe Cox from Freo at FF?, Westhoff CHF (going up the ground and roaming around), Draft a fwd/ruck to help Hayes out.

When has Hinkley ever had consistent performances out of resting rucks anyway it's almost impossible with Hinkleyball, plays them out of form and leaves a lumbering dinosaur doing sfa on the ground.

Trading a guy who has kicked 296 goals in 147 games (2.01 per game) for a guy who has kicked 4 goals in 3 games is a ridiculously bad trade - but not for us.

At some point age becomes irrelevant when one player is a proven AFL player and the other has basically never even played the game at the elite level.

The attraction in doing that trade for the Crows comes in getting Jenkins' salary off their books, not what they're getting in return.

Looks good on paper but no way will Hinkley play them.
Guys like Marshall and Ladhams only get a go once in a Blue moon.
All normal proposals are useless under Hinkley.
Joe The Goose is the only answer 🤪🤪🤪

We should be trading in players that will be here post-Hinkley. Jenkins is a sugar hit signing that could force us to endure yet another year of Hinkley in 2021.
If you believe in Rucci's contacts we have zero interest in Jenkins.

I still maintain Sam Gray is a fine footballer who would play well in a system that doesn't try and make him into a FF.

Someone will pick him up for peanuts. They're just waiting until the big deals are done to do it. Same with Jenkins actually.
I'm not a fan of him, as in, him scoring 20 goals means something isn't right in our forward line, but that is dysfunctional beyond expression anyway

But can we be honest and respect what he achieves and has achieved?

Personally I'd pick him 21 games out of 22 ahead of Dixon next year if we could only play one of them.
