Cameron was contracted. Greenwood isn't. And the club that wants him has pick in the PSD. They could take Greenwood for free if they wanted to. The Crows have literally no bargaining power.

The Suns opening offer was a third rounder. A reasonable, even generous offer in the circumstances. The Crows threw it back in their faces. If I was Gold Coast, that would be enough for me to take all generosity off of the table.

If you're gonna play hardball, maybe stick to doing it in situations where you have at least a tiny bit of bargaining power, Crowies.

Nah they do protect their job, or rather they prolong it. In an industry like the AFL, prolonging is what people aim for.

Big obvious expensive **** ups that get media attention are what cut your career short in off field. Playing a past-it spud you got with a nothing pick is fine.

Nah they do protect their job, or rather they prolong it. In an industry like the AFL, prolonging is what people aim for.

Yeah finishing 6th-10th on a regular basis definitely prolongs your career more than anything other than a premiership or two.

I definitely see why you view Ken as this. I’m still hoping he just has a bit too much confidence in the team, and we have over performed a bit. Perhaps it doesn’t matter either way if the result is the same and we don’t fix the list.

He sounded very confident that we could challenge for a flag in 2020, hopefully he is right and not just aiming for the career coach’s premiership of “top 4”.

This is the fallout from not getting Fantasia. Essendon would have been in the market for guys like Butler etc as a stop gap for next year and gone there instead of St Kilda.

The only deal I would Consider accepting for doogs would be

Doogs 29 Ryder late 4th

Pick 18 , Harrison Petty (saints send pick to melb) , future second Early 4th

Basically doogs for 18 and petty, swap seconds, and upgrade 4th rounder and they get Ryder as a sweetener

And that would be the bare minimum I would take.

Davies and Cripps shouldn’t even factor in Brad Hill in this scenario but I could see there dealings with St Kilda going along the lines of “look we know you are gonna need 12 to secure Hill so hows about we just do 18 for Doogs eh?”

Howard, Ryder and one of our picks in the 60’s for 12. First and only offer. If not, back-up the statement that we will only move Dougal for a beneficial offer.
