There's been talk in some other threads about how our next coach needs to change the culture of the club and toughen up our players. No triumph without adversity, no success without sacrifice.

I believe it's been said that part of the reason we acquired Hardwick at the end of 2001 was because he was a genuine hard-man who'd been there (won a flag), knew what it took, and could show our players what it took.

Who in the current player market fits that bill, and who can or should we target? It's hard to think of many (or any?) Port players a new coach could deputise as his reign of terror unfolds.

We can surely beat that and GC would want more. Lukosius was pick 2 in a much better draft and has a year on entry payments to run on his contract as well.

I reckon you would have to bundle up a very good player with your 1st round pick.

Wines, SPP, Amon, Ryder and Sam Gray have all been linked with leaving so we have the currency.

Yep, that's my thinking too. Wines & pick ~ 8, and see if you can get something back as a pick also.

Lukosious won't come cheaply, but I reckon the buyer will end up happy in the long run.
