Equalisation is the biggest myth in the league.

We're not quite at the EPL level of 4-5 clubs only being able to win it, but to the AFL's credit they're making a decent go of it.

That "The Boys Club" could be released and not even scratch the AFL's teflon coating is enough said. I'd normally roll my eyes at chip-on-shoulder conspiracies, but when it comes to the AFL if I were to be told that the C-levels got up to weird Bohemian Grove shenanigans I'd believe it.

Didn't Geelong sign someone from AFL House at the start of the year? I could have sworn they signed someone who i thought at the time 'gee that should give them the heads up on changes coming to this space...

Not only have the AFL and GC gifted Geelong an absolutely ridiculous Pick this year in Pick 7, keep in mind that AFL House also approved GC sending Pick 11 in the 2021 AFL draft, for Geelongs Pick 27 in the 2020 draft. Another absolute doozy that never should have been given the green light.

I was always under the impression that there was some connection between GC and Geelong in their recruitment/list management team, or am I wrong?

Didn't the AFL give them a compo pick that was magically exactly when Geelong needed to get G Ablett back? Or am I mis remembering

We should go back to GC and say that they clearly don't rate picks, so we'll take Rankine, Atkins and his whole salary back and call it evens.

Jhye Clark (Pick 7 2022 AFL Draft)
Tanner Bruhn (Pick 12 2020 AFL Draft)
Ollie Henry (Pick 17 2020 AFL Draft)
Jack Holmes (Pick 10 2016 AFL Draft)

As Premiers, and without having to develop 3/4 of them. Wrap your brain around that one!

The issue is the AFL's in the making...they gave them too many picks, allowed them to just add players and so they don't need picks, so one team gets a leg up over all the others in the competition.

No, it's a new contract so can do what they want. He's not a FA.

In that case, why didn't GC just negotiate the same? I think Bowes plays a fair bit of VFL next year, he's not a better player than Tuohy, Stewart, O'Connor, Kolodjashnij, Bews, Blicavs or Henry.

Bowes is a straight up idiot if he defers money.
