Probably a bad or informed opinion on my bit, but IMO our midfield wont live and die by our ruckwork this year. I think whomever works in the ruck needs to be able to cover opposing rucks work off the ball and oppo structural set-up as much as possible - we have a challenged backline this year for KPD and while a lot of teams these days do run more medium and smalls, when oppo rucks drift forward we are pretty vulnerable if we don't have cover. I expect us to continue to play smaller rucks from time to time just to counter some of the tall overloads teams try on us in their forward half.

He copped a falcon yesterday. What's that worth in fantasy?

Interesting term ‘falcon’.

It derives in this context from Mario Fenech, ‘the Maltese Falcon’, comically being hit in the head by a footy many years ago.

Given his current sad struggle with dementia, the presumption being due to numerous concussions and head knocks, it’ll be interesting to see whether it continues in common usage or starts to be frowned upon.

Probably up the ground more. Interview with Bailey Scott talking about McKercher having some good people around him to learn off down back...."Sheezel as well before he moved".

He had plenty of KOs that weren’t ball related, hopefully the “ Falcon “ will remain a footy terminology across all codes. The footy show copped a bit for the skits at Mario’s expense when he was diagnosed, he was a tough player.

Wait. There’s recent skits about a concussion related diagnosis?… WTF.

Xerri needs to improve his ruck craft immensely. Match sim highlights show him putting the ball on the plate for the other team.
Our midfield may be looking the goods, however if this spud keeps gifting the ball to the opposition, the mids be chasing tails all day.

Hope not… pseudo chf maybe.

You want Duursma to be the guy with the poor match up leading into dangerous spots, or crumbing the ball off packs, or floating across packs taking hangers. He’s not the guy you want sitting under a high ball with 2 guys on his back.

Brayden might be the better CHF type.

Mario was their version of Doug Hawkins, the lovable ‘simple’ guy the rest would take the piss out of.

After he was diagnosed there was related talk about how he found that quite hurtful, the skits happened well before the diagnosis.
