If he can ease some of the load on Checkers and provide us with an extra genuine tall target then he’ll have done his job.
People easily forget that we only had 1 player kick 40+ in 2010, and it wasn’t any of our 3 key forwards (Didak).
We have a good potential spread of goal kickers in this years squad, much like 2010. I’m excited by the prospect of a side that opposition teams can’t plan against in regards to silencing the “main target” in the forward line.

A very interesting point you bring up. We definitely had a unbelievable spread of goal kickers in 2010 as highlighted below. But 2010 was also a very long time ago and the game is ever changing. Perhaps a better comparison is to the recent premiers. It seems that there is a increasing reliance on the top three in terms of team goals? Perhaps with forwards getting more run through the midfield these days rather than being "stay at home", the reliance to kick goals is on a few rather than a spread of goal kickers?

This week cameron moves out of the rehab group which leave Kruger the only one in it.
Fly has last week undergone sinus surgery in which he got when he played for the lions.
He is well Leppish to be stand in coach for our praccy v blues.
Dean should be in rehab group, unfortunately long term rehab

Will the game be streamed? Or on replay does anyone know? I can't make it on Friday.

If they get well injury wise how do they come back if on the inactive list?
Particularly in Charlie Dean's case.
Kreuger isn't on the inactive list, but seeing Dean has been replaced by Markov on the list, he'd need someone else to get added to the inactive list - otherwise we'd have too many active players

I simply do not understand the logic of some on McStay on this board.
One argument is he will now be the possible number 1 forward. Okay then he also gets the number 1 defender instead of the 3rd best.
Another is he will have Daicos, Pendles & Degoey feeding him etc. Is there anything wrong with Neale, Mccluggage, Rich etc?
I think what we have seen from him is what we can expect again this year. Some are setting themselves up for some disappointment.
He will be a solid contributor & help others improve their games. But I would be extremely surprised if he kicked more than Mihocek or Ginnivan.

The lions structure hasn’t won them any premierships so maybe they are going to be better off with two key forwards rather than too many.

Collingwood might be better off with two key forwards rather than one too few.
Sure we may be better off with 2. Are they the right 2 to get us where we want to get to? I don't think so.

Charlie Cameron 54 goals. Jack Ginnivan 40 goals. Brody Mihocek 41 goals. Joe Daniher 39 goals. Jamie Elliott 28 goals. Eric Hipwood 25 goals. Outside of Charlie Cameron , not that easy to compare
Daniher averaged more goals per game than Mihocek 2.05 v 1.78 whilst Hipwood was equal with Elliott 1.47.

Overall Brisbane’s forwards clearly outclass ours.

Okay. Why do you think that is? That he is 4th target?
I agree with your take, but yeah he was 4th in line. It’s a catch 22 because being the 4th in line at Brisbane means he nominally* cops the likes of Murphy, Kolodjashnij, Broad, L Ryan etc. At Collingwood it’s now De Koning, Weitering, Pearce. More supply and a nominally* tougher opponent could very well net off.

*nominally because they don’t really go man to man these days

Not sure why everyone is obsessing with who will kick more goals ......McStay is a very similar type to Mihocek - The stats below highlight both rarely miss games, are hard working (see TK/CP/1%), and productive as forwards in Goals, Goal assists, Marks, Contested Marks, Marks inside 50.......Mihocek has consistently scored more goals, but McStay has higher average contested marks, but considerably less Marks Inside 50 indicative of playing a little higher up the ground. For all the reasons I appreciate Mihocek, I expect to also appreciate McStay - consistent work effort and contribution! I look forward to seeing them side-by-side in Black and White!

For me it's not about ranking forwards and defenders - it's about where and how they play. I'm expecting McStay to play a lot closer to goal for us than he did for Brissy and thus more of his possessions will be within range of the goals.

Some are also so far into the McStay Kool-Aid that they won't allow themselves to feel disappointment, even if all the metrics show he doesn't perform.
