Just doesn’t really play anything like him

Completely contrasting styles

It was a weird comment by the poster

He was number nine in the league for contested marks as a forward last year. If you purge the too small sample sizes probably sixth or so. And there's no one really even that close to his age in the group near him on the list.

Those numbers are boosted somewhat by the Ruck stints (though he's not alone in that), but this is a kid who's like three quarters of a decade off his prime years.

You can think a lot of things about him, and he's not a dominant pack marking forward just yet, but the kid's a contested marking beast.

Rather than do just contested marks, I've put together a short video of all his "involvements". Sorry about the quality, I had to zoom in so you could see him. Also I did it all in slo-mo.

Thank you ever so much for making the effort to compile this flashcrow. I think most of us here realized RT is going to be very good, but that highlight package from just one preseason trial game shows what an absolute beast he will likely turn into. I do not use the 'elite' word often, so as not to undervalue it, but he has 'elite' written all over him. Watch out Wayne Carey, someone has you covered, and hopefully without all of the off field muck that came with him!

Put down the glass bbq, champion!

RT has a long way to go before he's a consistent threat and game day performer. He might get there this year, or next, but comparisons with Carey are a little fanciful.

Powell-Pepper got his timing horribly wrong, will the AFL make an example of him?

Port Adelaide wrecking ball Sam Powell Pepper got every part of his timing wrong in his collision with Adelaide’s Mark Keane.

From where we left off last year I’d say the Powell Pepper bump is a straight up and down three week ban.

But if the AFL has a mind to increase the deterrent it will seek four weeks in this case and establish a greater penalty.

And all 3+ games will be served during the season, not during the pre-season

Now because SPP 'reached out' to Keane and is apparently contrite - there should be no appeal coming from port on this when the verdict is handed down otherwise it does not really look very contrite

Seemed much better with his tapwork on the boundary line throwins, than other ones.

Still nice to see him clunking those marks. Those ones he dropped... a few pretty dubious arm chops really. He got the hands right there.
I think he will definitely improve as the season goes on.

Concur strongly
