Did a job up that way over the last couple years, went for a spin to Woomera, on a RDO.

Had a Homemade Pie at Spud's Roadhouse. Pretty sure it was $10-11. Big pie. Sensational. Surprisingly enjoyable.

I never ate there in all the years I lived at Woomera. My mum used to work in the local dry cleaners/laundry and saw the stuff they sent in for cleaning and it was so disgusting that they'd use long sticks to pick it up.

Spud Murphy was a 'popular/colourful outback identity' though - even if he did charge the people fleeing Cyclone Tracey for water. The Yanks thought he was great - saw the Roadhouse like one of those you'd see in the backblocks of the USA. Reckon he made his fortune out of them, but I think he sold up after Nurrungar closed and the upgrade to the Stuart Highway bypassed his dump.

I stayed at Spud's Roadhouse while working on a pumping station between Port Augusta and Woomera towards the end of 1990.

Things I remember.
They has a KISS pinball machine. Awesome.
Two TV stations. ABC and Imparja.
The price of fuel was ridiculous as the Persian Gulf War was in full swing.
We worked 7 days a week 10 hour days and one day I woke up and had no idea what day it was. They all blended into one.
Going yabbying in a local damn using some roadkill.
Seeing a wedge tailed eagle lifting off from the road. Massive wingspan. Wider than the ute we were in.

I love the outback places.

I watched the 2007 Grand Final in the Transcontinental Hotel in Oodnadatta with 2 locals, I reckon I knew what was going to happen and ended up as far away from civilisation as I could get!

I spent a week up in Darwin. Not the outback but such a relaxed place.

Let's do it tomorrow attitude.

I am King of the Crabs!

It very nearly is.

What if the drummer from Dream Theatre tried to play the same song the rest of the band is playing?

How would that work?

If the reality is mundane let it remain a mystery lol

I dunno even if it's mundane it's still weird.

Not as weird as going on the related thread on the crime part of bigfooty and some blokes gone fully in to soviet spy networks in Australia and it looks like this.

Neighbours finale tonight everyone, if anyone else doesn't have four hundred better things to do, I can lend you some of mine, just in case.

I guess his wife, no one he worked with or any relatives coming forward in a highly publicized case it still kinda weird.

And being poisoned
And no ID at all, anywhere
And wandering around Glenelg all day but found in clean clothes
And that people who looked at the body are suspected of recognising him but told police they don't

I have confidence you'll crack this case.. hopefully before the Neighbours finale
