It wasnt up to code so the sellee agreed to either take it out for free before the sale or they will get it up to code at your cost prior to the sale

Classic boomer. Though I guess not surprising the place she bought it from never mentioned regulations because my bet is they wouldnt sell * all if they had to ensure all compliance is met.

Might explain why my folks generation was know as the Silent Generation. Never once asked for council approval for anything.

Growing up as a kid, every time the council came round and complain about a new structure in the back yard it was always.

"It was already here when I moved in"

"I just fixed what was here"

Block still has the old concrete vat for wine making, wood oven shed that is big enough for 26 loaves of bread, multiple sheds for different meat lines (rabbits, chooks, pigeons etc.) Block was a self sustained village.

Council just stopped coming around. Neighbours just gave up complaining
