the fact that people are struggling to afford to put a roof over their heads and buy basic goods at coles is a small price to pay for living in an age where you can get the internet to fake up a picture of jimi hendrix playing karl marx on street fighter

Ivan Cleary coach - son Nathan Cleary Clive Churchill medal winner.

Ken Hinkley coach - Jordie Hinkley, son, some sort of video analyst.

I see ex Panthers captain 1991 preniership winner Royce Simmons is on the podium to help present the cup.

I was a big fan of the Pillow with Feet as Roy and HG affectionately called him.

Haha Port used to have a partnership / relationship with Penrith about 2015 or 2016 because OAK sponsored both clubs. Been a divergent path since then.

No one in NRL country seems to whinge about night grand finals, in AFL land it's oh no the kids will be up late & nanna might nod off before the end etc. such a better spectacle.

yeah ive come around
the afl you just waste all day watching the shite and then it finishes at 5 and your day is already gone. fine if your team wins and you want to kick on, but that's never happening again.

make it night and you can still spend your day doing something else then kick back and watch it in the evening.

Between 2001 and 2007 it was a 7pm start, then between 2008 and 2012 after lots of complaints they changed it to a twighlight 5pm start. I lived in Sydney or SE Qld thru these two changes.

Then the NRL said bad luck fans we have to maximize the TV / Media deals and they told the rugby league supporters we are going with what the broadcaster ie ch 9 wants.

The public had been softened up, so they accepted the change back to 7pm /7.30pm

This just has energy even if you have no skin in the game, the AFL GF finishes in that just before dinner dead zone flat vibe & goes to a rerun of South Aussie with Cossie or something & you start thinking why did I even care about it.

Chewy316 Broncos supporter was at the game with his mate from Brisbane, who came with us to the Qualifying final at the Gabba 3 weeks ago.

We were texting throughout the game but when the Broncos went 24-8 up, at 55 minite mark I text him that its over. He said no its not. Its not over till its over

I replied with - you have been Hinkleyfied, and he replied with Farken Oath.

I told him after the game thats what Queensland usually do to NSW in the last 10 minutes of a state of origin game, or the All Blacks do to the Wallabies in a Bledisloe Cup game

He's hurting.

Do you remeber how drunk he got after their first premiership. Legendary!
Yes, I think he was still going Wednesday night after the game and hadn't been home yet.
