Disappointed to hear, so many things compound it to... age, someone who gives their all and comes across as a good bloke and right on the eve of the season after a hard preseason.

I hope we get to see Goldsack on an AFL field again.

I reckon that’s him done unfortunately. I’d be more upset if he was still playing key defence, he’s a fairly average forward tbh, but he’s a warrior and deserves respect.

It's sucks for Goldsack that he's done an acl but it's a minor blow at worst.

Rubbish. He is best 22 every day of the week. He was outstanding last year. He can play back, forward or midfield and will give his all. He has pace and body strength. There is no replacement for his role.

Can wills play defensive forward , will he be fit enough ? Might be too slow

Certainly gives shaz, mayne, Kirby and daicos a chance now

Of course they get a chance but none of them have any of the assets Goldsack possessed. Shaz is glacially slow and not super keen on contact, Mayne is finished , Daics is a low possession but very skillful kid who still needs a couple more years of development and Kirby has absolutely no tank. They are mostly the very antitheses of Goldsack.

This news is f*****. He's a good spirit around the club, and I hope he can continue to be that.

I reckon that Goldy gets underrated from time to time. He's got plenty of limitations, but his ability to close down space, to pressure opponents and to support teammates has never been anything but elite. He'll be sorely missed this year.

Really feel for both Goldy and the club had his best year for us last year and we are definitely going to miss him out there wish him all the best with his recovery
