Fightmetric also didn’t register Khabib knocking McGregor down as a knock down, shitty stat site.

I can’t be the only one who thinks Ferg doesn’t have anything for Khabib? At 27-0 you have fought some pretty good Black Belts in BJJ.. I can just see it going the exact same way as all of his fights.

I thought his hand touched the canvas from memory?

If you have to put your hand back to stop yourself landing on your ass it’s a knockdown in my books, I’d even say he did touch ass to mat but without looking at the gif I can’t be 100%.

As opposed to Conor and his gang of Irish thugs who attacked the bus? Conor should be in jail and banned from ever fighting for UFC or any other promotion for life. Not to mention all the threats and personal attacks he has hurled since & including the pre-fight presser. Paybacks a bitch and he deserved to be humbled in and out of the ring.

lol

By MMA rules a third point of contact on the canvas is a downed opponent I believe.

His knee and hand appear to touch the canvas, that's a knockdown in anyone's language surely. Perfectly timed punch and thrown hard, Conor may have been on his heels a bit too.

Does anyone see a way that Conor can win the rematch (if it happened?) I'm not sure if he appeared rusty or if Khabib made him look ordinary but i feel he's looked better than that. It was definitely a comprehensive victory but I think a rematch could be more competitive. His defence held up for a while in the first, I feel he took longer to get Conor down than other guys, plus he didn't really take much damage (maybe Khabib was just trying to lay and pray though).
I can't see Conor winning in a rematch, not after this fight.

Tony vs Conor would be cool.

Spot on! Give Conor props though, he’s got a chin on him!

All drama aside think we saw fight of the year, round of the year and comeback of the year on this card. Not bad considering it looked a bit weak on paper heavily banking on main

Come-guys, be real. Conor's going no where near Khabib ever again. He looked like a scared mummy's boy. He's probably getting tucked in by Dee as we speak. Poor Cnr Jnr is waiting for his bed time. Just doesn't seem right. Khabib is a big bad bully

Derrick Lewis comeback was legendary. Pettis v Ferg was insane, the volume of blood was off the charts.

When he fights standing opponents he can take his time reading patterns, fakes, foot work etc(Alverez fight is a perfect example). It's hard to do that against a guy you know is gonna take you down to the ground.....you're trying to read this guy and at the same time waiting for the take down attempt.

Khabib's first attempt was very smart....very low shoot for the leg. taking out the risk of punch/knee to the head.

McGregor might have a slightly better chance 2nd time round after a 2 year lay off but ultimately the same result will come about if they fight again.

Re-match won’t/shouldn’t happen. McGregor was totally exposed by a better fighter who he had plenty of time in advance to prepare for.
Rusty call is crap, he’s just too way past it now. Too rich, too famous, too pandered to.

I think he was scared after the first round because he didn’t show much until Khabib also tired in the 3rd after doing all the work. **** I reckon he was scared before that even, like probably 1-2 weeks before.

Nurmagomedov wasn’t at all biting on his talk and stayed ice cold.

McGregor was just all false bravado trying to keep up an image that is now non-existent.
Like Tyson after Douglas, no one fears him anymore.

So if dillon danis said I'm going to kill your children, it doesn't justify his actions? Wow I know what I would do in that case...
And if that’s not what he said?

Remember Mike Tyson told the world he was gonna eat Lennox Lewis’ children..?

Lennox didn’t have kids but we didn’t see him jumping into crowds of people over it. :drunk::thumbsu:

How many kids does Khabib have anyway?

As if either of those guys were scared.
Yeah you’re right, terrified is probably a better way to put it.

Whole world waiting to see someone be humiliated.

Maybe nothing to worry about for a fighter I guess.

Dude I get that, but to whom I replied they siad no matter what was said, I was merely giving an example... Point being there are boundaries! I really wished khabib didn't do what he did, tarnished the night and his career..

It's one of the best resources available. I doubt very much that they were off by 15 strikes for each fighter to make a difference. As for the knockdown, yes more than his feet were on the ground but he did a good job at keeping his feet. It's likley nitpicking one way or another, but it's not like knockdowns count for anything in MMA.

Ferg represents the best chance of beating Khabib IMO. He has strong wrestling, great scrambling and submissions as well as a diverse stand up game. I would favour Khabib to win, but I doubt it would be a blow out like most of his other wins.
