I think he fights aspinall personally. I think he has too much ego, it's all a money ploy I think he wants 10-20m to fight him
Yeah it's him setting up the story line and milking Dena into ponying up some big time cash

But if he thinks the cash isn't right and walks I think he has enough runs on the board to not be called a ducker

The whole thing went as expected.
Stipe looked old, slow and hasn’t had a fight in years. Jones should fight Aspinall. I feel he won’t.
If he doesn’t relinquish the belt and fight Alex or do a Connor and sail off into the sunset, he’s earned the right to choose what he wants.

Co-main was the highlight, credit to Chandler for being able to defend himself on his back for 4 rounds, good fight.
Also that whole Trump thing felt like the wwf… give it a ****ing rest.

I don't like Jones personally but anyone accessing him of ducking Aspinall is either a new fan of the UFC for a few years or an idiot

He has a record of something like 15-0 or 16-0 in world titles fights (Reyes one the only one that was questionable). He would out wrestle the wrestlers and the next fight out strike the kickboxers.

2 weight world champion and is 37 or something. He has earned the right to retire on his own terms and not keep fighting until one day a young kid gets lucky.

he is ducking him - not because he’s scared but because it makes sense.

pereira probably sells more and is an easier fight against a smaller guy.

This man has earned the right to pick his next fight

His BMF idea against Pereira sounds pretty great to me. Bonus points for making Ankalaev mad

Only negative is that there's no one left on paper too challenge Tom once he is promoted to undisputed. And he won't be fighting within the next 9 months. Long time for Tom to wait around without an answer. He doesn't want to end up like Chandler

Half expecting Jones to retire straight into a position in Trumps cabinet after that carry on

In fairness to him he may be 'making hay while the sun shines'. The secret service never allowed him to attend UFC shows for security reason whilst he was President.

Maybe that'll be relaxed....I don't know.

If not that may be the last show he attends for sometime.

Do everyone a favour and f off back to wherever you came from.
Did I somehow trigger you? Because I want Jones to fight the interim champion and not hold the division up?

Interesting, didn't realise how sensitive certain posters are, deary me

You and the two kids who like your post want a group hug?

I could very well be the latter, but I believe Jones is very carefully protecting his legacy. Whether you call that ducking or not, I don't know.

On his "right" - sure, but he also made his name fighting a lot of guys on their way out of the game, and the guys coming up now should really be afforded the same opportunity.

Love him or hate him Jones is the GOAT and has earned every right to fight whoever he wants.

Jones in his prime even as a LHW would absolutely smoke Aspinall.
I do rank him #1 all time personally, but this is a crazy take. Even if you say his prime was well before the weak Reyes and Santos efforts, Jones has always had a significant size advantage in his fights, bar Alexander Gustafsson, who gave him a hell of a fight. He flat out refused to fight DC at HW, and has carefully curated his HW career so far.

A 205 lb Jones smoking a guy who's proving to be the next evolution of MMA, and 50 lbs heavier, is massive hyperbole.

"earned it"

LOL No.

It's actually very simple. Champion fights in the interim champion, always.

Tom has even defended the interim belt, which is bizzare in itself.

The fact he isn't giving the interim opponent an opportunity is selfish.

This isn't romance, refusing to fight Tom and keeping the belt is actually pathetic.

If he wants to fight Alex, then simply strip him of the belt. No need to hold the division up for your own selfish needs.

See how simple that is to understand?

Sheep behavior getting in the way of good ol' commonsense unfortunately around here.

It doesn't matter who he fights next, I'm tuning in, and so are most of you.

My preference is Aspinall, but Paotan would also be terrific to see.

Even if they got DC to put down the Popeyes chicken for six months and come out of retirement to run it back, I'd be excited to see that.

this is all true but i'd rather see Jones fight AP ahead of Tom. BUT he cant duck Tom and retain the belt. Either needs to give it up or foght tom.

Problem is Jon Jones is 37.5 years old. Dont think he has even got 2 more fights in him?

2 more fights with an assumed 12-month break has him almost 40.

I wouldn't call it sheep behavior - i doubt JJ is scared at all of Tom.

But i agree, if he doesn't want to fight Tom because there's a better fight available i.e. AP, he should vacate the belt.

He'll have cleaned out the division by the time he gets the proper belt, that is bullshit of course

I think Pereira does, thing is Aspinall is a smart fighter who will use the right gameplan, you bet he's getting Pereira on the deck
Aspinall literally said in an interview all these guys try and kickbox with him, im sprinting across the octagon and rugby tackling him first second of the fight lol.
