rupo and bernards will turn out to be dragon slayers from now on...meaning they will cause headaches for the top teams.
Wandered out to Marcellin yesterday and saw a great game of footy. Marcellin jumped Rupo but after the first 15 it was an arm wrestle. Rupo played really well but don't dismiss Marcellin's performance. On most days that standard of footy would have won the game. The last quarter was a treat. Tight, end to end to end stuff and only three goals scored. I was happy for the boys who played and a little sad for the boys who didn't. Everybody deserved to be a part of it. As for the future, we're taking it a game at a time. Another test next week but we're at home and Scotch should be concerned. As for Wheels and Dukes, they played yesterday and were obviously pretty pleased with the result. But tone it down a little boys. Remember the game is about earning respect and plenty was earned yesterday.

The point I was getting at who cares if they cause the top teams grief. Come Aug/Sep they will be planning their trip away so does not matter what grief they cause. No one celebrates finishing 8th
They can do all the dragon slaying they want, but you know whats better then dragon slaying....playing finals!!

please disregard the earlier comment. we were all very happy with our win on the weekend and as alot of you know they have been pretty hard to come by for rupo. Therefore we were all ecstatic to get one against such a strong team. Marcellin were a very stong side who played really well. they will be strong in finals and defiently deserve to be there. As for scotch next week, they seem to be having an outstanding season and it will be a true test to us. Must agree with 'Robbos my hero' the game is about respect and scotch would have to be one of the most respected teams in the league and there is no doubt they will be very strong this weekend. well done to all who played last round, seemed to be a very close round in most games.
The Xavs go down in a nail biter. De La coach said it was the most competitive, spirited and best side they have played in 2 years. Not too shabby for a team missing a whooping 13 players from their side.
Judging by Saturday the Xavs love the hardstuff. My boy Armstrong was amazing, I say it a lot but this time he did things that sent the crowd gasping for air, women were crossing their legs tightly to prevent a rush of pleasurable fluid, men were placing hands on the groinal area to hide a lump and kids were seen sprinting to sports stores to grab the number 12 on their Xavs jumper.
Well done Xavs, showed heart in a match compared to the best of the century.

It was the single least attractive game in the history of football. All due to Xavs' game style, which seems to be pretty simple: Put 22 players in the back half

one very clear thing has been found it. de la, st bedes, scotch love to be second at the ball. not to many contested ball wins for any of those sides vs the hard ball winning elite in OXFC.
hmmm... you must be winning alot of hard ball with a win loss record of 4-8... and your game style is not worthy to play in premier division... your coach must be stupid not to play at least some attacking footy with forwards such as (Smith & Santili) ... i would much rather see and OM's attacking stlye or Old Ivanhoe attacking syle in the competition
pretty sure if you put 22 players in the back half you lose by disqualifacation, i'd try 18 to be safe

Spare me. I fail to see how all of you hero's know so much about Xaviers game style. Pretty sure every team in the comp plays a loose man at some stage. Moral is the De La boys won by a kick, like every other game Xavs have lost... I'm sure if u asked the De La guys they would say it was a ##### hard game. If Xavs had 40 more points collectively over the season they would be sitting at about second on the ladder. Still a chance at the finals, if not theres nothing to loose cause the Xavs are one of the most respected football clubs in Victoria. P.S if that game is boring (goal for goal for the entire last quarter) it must take u a shit load to get excited.

You spare me now mate! thats a joke... it is acceptable to play one ma in defence and maybe two if there is a shocking wind, but when you boys play more than two spare and you defensive running midfielders andthe accountable blokes that push back like they should it turns into complete flooding! not having a go at your players or your defensive running middies and accountable players mate, but you cant seriously expect to be a good team and have many wins on the boad with that sort of game plan!
i mean you will shutdown other teams and come close in a lot of games, very similar to what you have done, but it will not be effective and you will not end up with a decent win/loss ratio.......
P.S. Xavs have absolutly no chance to make the finals what so ever!
and they are boring to watch, being a fan of them or not i have sources that tell me from inside and outside it is disgusting!

It is quite sad really, they have some handy players Xavs but seeing as they are drilled to flood so excessively they dont give themselves a chance of winning enough games. Sure the lockdown will work sometimes and u will nearly knock the top sides off, but alot of the time it doesnt and you give even the worst teams an opportunity to beat you. (Hence the 4-8 record or whatever it is). Its a pretty gutless gameplan, the xavs coach must have absoloutely no faith in his cattle

Xavs (10 Points) over Uni Blues >>> With all the talk during the week they better back it up...
Marcellin (48 Points) over St Bernards >>> Will hit back strong after a dissapointing loss...
Uni Blacks (7 Points) over Skevs >>> Danger game for Blacks as they dont perform well against the lower sides... if they dont win on Sat they will not play finals...
Scotch (23 Points) over Rupertswood >>> Will be close but dont think Rupo can keep their form up Scotch should outclass them here... (another danger game)...
St Bedes (5 Points) ove De La >>> Match of the round... The game Will be a scrappy... and with the state of the Oval (Waverly Park) (no grass and just a mudd pitt to almost have the ground) i think the tight contested game that St Bedes play will get them over the line and see them at the top of the table...

My tips for this round...
Xavs to beat the Blues by just a couple after coming so close last week to knocking off competition leaders.
Bernards to will follow in the foot steps of Rupo and knock off Marcelin by 3 goals which will send Marcelin into a panic coming into finals time.
Blacks will smash Skevs and move to 4th.
Scotch to beat Rupo who will put up a good fight.
***Match of the round***
This game will be a preview to the GF and should turn out to be a cracker. Dela will prove to be to strong for a cocky Bedes team who will walk away losing by 5 goals.

Saw bernards marcellin game......bernards certainly are a different side to wat i expect most teams wud have played first time round.....plenty of new players in and could quit capably take finals scalps on its merry way to relegation!

Thoughts plz on astonishing rupo form swing.....looking at quarter by qtr break down of scoring....rupo should have ended the game in the second qtr with 2.10 kicked?????? My god scotch must have been lucky!?.... thoughts
Finally Uni Blues......won 5 of last 6....the late mail is in and its that they are making a serious finals press and have sum very big bodies making an impact down at crawford oval???....wrong or right....id like to hear sum thoughts

yeh bernards have a lot of players back from injury and couple have been dropped back from seniors since rd12 probably wouldve have beaten marcellin if it wasnt for their cheatting dog boundary ump who was calling us going into the centre square at the ball up and that lanky ******* umpire who knew most of their players names
