Well how are St Bedes going to go with a second team this year. Is there
enough depth to win a few matches.

St Bede's(2) should go well.Saw them against Prahran Caulfield two weeks ago and they won by lots.

PrahranCaulfield are a very young side with lots of players eligible to go around for 2 or 3 years in U19's. No miracles expected, a developing year for them and hope to be competitive.

Who are prahran - Caulfield related to ? which senior Amateur Club ?
Prahran ? Glen eira ? Which school do the kids come from ?

Dont know who they are linked to but a lot of the boys come from De La, a lot of them playing for caulfield bears in the under 17 competition last year

Any other practice game results? St bedes look good for a seconds side, long list this year. parkdale lost to oakleigh (div 2 or 3?) 15.4 to 12.8 and to hampton rovers by 5 points, both games pretty tight all the way through.

Prahran Caulfield are the worst team in the 19's Competition by a long way... Not sure how Hampton are but Prahran are terrible...

To keep things in perspective, most Prahran Caulfield players can go around again in 2008 and quite a few can go around also in 2009 in U19's.Just looking for some development this season.

Good luck to St. Bede's for the season.

Anywone see hampton rovers play on the weekend ? are they any good

Saw Hampton's 2nd half against Parkdale in a praccy and they seemed to have an even spread of talent. The FF with the large shorts is a great kick and they seemed very well drilled for this level of footy. The small goal hungry FP had plenty of chances and may need to think about handballing now and then, will kick plenty through out the year though.

Parkdale probably had more guns but seemed unsure of a path to goal and carried some passengers.

Just some observations from a dog walker on the outer.

Geeze you are a positive bloke. Bagging 17 year olds, first St. Leo's, now Prahran Caulfield. The fact of the matter is these kids are having a go. I know at our club, we got behind these kids last year, hoping that they'll become good clubmen in the future. I'm sure Prahran / Caulfield are hoping for the same, and eventually, when they develop, and when they are old enough to judge them, there might be a couple of good players there.

St Leo's, last year - who you seemed to get off on bagging, had predominantly 17 year olds, most playing their first year of footy. The stuck together, and ended up winning two games at the end of the year. They continued their improvement with a competitive game against Old Xavs on the weekend.

All I'll say, is I'm glad you're not in charge of our U/19's, and I'm sure Prahran / Caulfield are the same.

Mail from everywhere suggests prahran are in it this year for the development, and good luck to them. st bedes have a very long and strong list, their seconds side will be competitive. hampton will be good but top 2 mgiht be pushing it, retained most of their side from last year, work together well and an even spread of talent. big chance to be around at the pointy end of the season. parkdale will be much better this year, handful of genuine standouts as suggested but also a few passengers. ajax coming down a grade have a very different side to last year but should comfortably make the 4, old haileyburians and mazenod should sit at the top once again.

I dont think we should write of the bloods. I feel they will be almost as competitive as last year with hampton and penninsula to be there abouts but i feel its time for mazenod to move up to section 3 where they could have been last season.

Interesting result, every side has shown a bit in the early rounds. Any teams losing players to the seniors? for parkdale mccarthy t boland and deluvio have already been up

too right Kibe. it's better that we have a team running 'round with kids developing and having a bit of fun than woory about the fact they're gonna get belted by sides that have played together for 4-5 years.
Prahran and Caulfield are looking for future senior player not under 19 premierships.

Starting to look like a very even competition around these parts.

Whats everyones thoughts so far?
Ajax and mazenod are the teams to beat for my mind. I think this round is going to start giving us a good indication as to how this season may start to pan out.

Interesting game between haileybury and st bedes this weekend. both teams coming off maiden wins and looking to start cementing themselves in the top 4. It will be a tight one, im not even willing to call a winner.

prahran-caulfield and parkdale will battle it out this weekend. I think these two may be fighting to stay off the bottom of the ladder. ill take the vultures by 25.

mazenod at home will take down the ashers comfortably.

and after their trek, the boys from Mt eliza will fall to Ajax.

any one elses thoughts?

Word has it that st bedes are going to swap their 2nd division team with their south team, to give old haileybury a beating. And the south team will play up a division to play whitefriars who are bottom of the ladder.
