Also yet again I'd suggest people turn off mainstream media and look for themselves what is going on. In the past two days was that lead story about the post office whistle blower who the media say recanted even while the man himself denies that he has. The media still hasn't corrected this error. More importantly the media have reported a "recount" in Georgia when in fact it is an "audit" That is a massive difference. Georgia had 25,000 people vote who were over the age of 90 including some 1500 over the age of a hundred. An audit would check that these people actually voted (or exist).

JFYI i heard this issue discussed on a podcast last night

Apparently Georgia utilized some new processes in its election this year, and they were always going to do a manual audit to validate the effectiveness of it. They specifically chose to audit the presidential ballot because of the profile (even though the senate one may have more impact.

He is certainly caught up in other things at the minute that makes the mind boggle a bit, and yes he should come across as caring more. But really there is nothing he can do now other than lock the country down. There is simply to much spread to try and manage it. How do you lock down the USA? They have more homeless than we have population.

Thanks for responding to the tag skilts. I hope you are well mate.

It has been an unalloyed pleasure. I haven't been around here for a while. I've been busy trying to save our local cricket club from imminent extinction. We realised after we asked for a commitment from our players, in June, that we would be unable to field three teams, as we were able to do last season. Fourteen players from last season's A and B grade teams ceased to be involved. Included among them was our coach, who went elsewhere for more money, and our best bowler. The secretary, president and most other members of the committee were also listed among the missing.

So, myself and a couple of former players with the club started a resurrection process. We managed to convince the association in which we play that it would be good if we were allowed to field only one team. and that in B Grade. After a long campaign, including in the local press, the Committee of Management of the association, and all of the other clubs, acquiesced. This, despite it being contained expressly in the by-laws of the association that each club must field an A Grade team.

We played our first game for the season last Saturday and had a handsome win. My only fear now is that we perform too well and make it look like we had stitched everyone up. A couple of blokes who had sought clearances to other clubs changed their minds and withdrew their applications, after realising what a mess we were in.

Just another year among fifty of involvement in sports administration. I hated the idea of being attached to a cricket club which ceased to exist, even though my previous roles with this particular club had been mostly confined to scoring and pouring beers.

Sorry to marp on. Thanks to all for their concern for my welfare.

Edit: I forgot to mention that our newly-minted president, and his wife the secretary, each encountered some health issues a couple of weeks ago, all in one twenty-four hour period. She, at only 31 years, suffered a stroke, and is still having problems. He, at 29 years, was diagnosed with a benign lump on his brain. His prognosis is O.K.
