Why not take the high road?

Other people's misery is the cause of your sweetest emotional state? Even sweeter than, say, seeing one of your loved ones succeed? Bit sociopathic bro.
Why should folks display empathy to a man who has none? A man whose politics are those of cruelty and greed, whose only motivation is to fuel his ego.

Laura on Sky, more conspiracy theories in PA with two Trump lawyers.

She is a nut job.
Is this Laura Jayes you are talking about?

I don't watch Sky News, I'm losing brain cells too rapidly as it is. :)

I see no issue with monitoring the digital ratlines.
Depends on how you use it. If it is just used by lefty political Twitter to gloat, or to vilify and shame those who should know better* then it will only further drive polarisation imo, and that doesn't lead to anything good

*i.e. not idiots like Hannity, Carlson, Alex Jones, Matt Gaetz, Tom Cotton - throwing their comments back in their faces is fair game given the tactics they use

Sorry ... I meant Fox (got Sky on the brain) and Laura Ingram.

"Biden smoothly united the party, and it was his attention to personal relationships that set the foundation. “I think the difference now is that, between you and me, I have a better relationship with Joe Biden than I had with Hillary Clinton, and that Biden has been much more receptive to sitting down and talking with me and other progressives than we have seen in the past,” onetime presidential rival Bernie Sanders told the New Yorker.

As Biden wrote, personal relationships build trust. And trust builds a foundation upon which negotiation and compromise — the core work of politics, as Biden sees it — is possible. And so the Biden-Sanders relationship birthed the Biden-Sanders task forces, which was, to my eyes, the most impressive and interesting decision of Biden’s campaign.

Rather than taking his victory over Sanders as an opportunity to define the Democratic Party, Biden took it as his opportunity to unite the Democratic Party. And that meant reopening his policy agenda, and giving a slew of critics and detractors a voice in his campaign.

Varshini Prakash, the executive director of the environmental group Sunrise Movement, was one of those detractors. The Sunrise Movement had given Biden an “F” on climate during the campaign, a position his campaign considered grossly unfair given the ambition of their plans. But when the Sanders team proposed Prakash as part of the task force, Biden’s team didn’t flinch.

“They could’ve said, ‘I don’t want Varshini to be part of the task force; her organization has been mean to me,’” Prakash told me. “But they didn’t, and I give them credit for it.”

This was, for the Biden campaign, a risk: Adding Sunrise to the task force would shine a spotlight on them, give them more clout, and make it far more damaging if the organization once again decided to torch Biden’s commitment to climate. But that’s not how it played out. The Biden camp listened. Their plan changed, strengthened.

“I was standing behind Bernie Sanders when he unveiled his climate plan in 2016,” Prakash says. “The fact that Joe Biden’s climate plan now is more ambitious than Bernie Sanders’s plan in 2016 is mind-blowing.” The result was that the Sunrise Movement, rather than feeling defeated by the Biden campaign, bought into it. “There’s a reason we’ve made hundreds of thousands of phone calls and sent hundreds of thousands of postcards to defeat Trump,” Prakash says. “It’s not about the political champion or the political savior. It’s about the broader mission at hand.”"

After all these years I still don’t understand it. You’d have to be a terrible judge of character not to instantly judge him for the garbage person he is. Yet somehow he’s a man of the people and working class.
Because Trump tapped into the one area most voters felt was ignored

Draining the swamp - even though he tried to drain as much for himself and family
He made them feel part of the process instead of being outsiders who must dance to a master they dont like

Sure he wouldnt have dinner or a beer with any of those he pretended to like - but he sure fooled them into thinking he would

Most level-headed people recognised him for the abhorrent person he was 30 years ago, yet his QAnon cult will swallow any shit that he spews from his mouth (while calling anyone else a mindless sheep) while somehow believing that a Biden win will result in a Socialist America. Despite the Democrats being as right-wing as our own Coalition.

Empathy requires you to understand the feelings of others, to get what it's like to be in their shoes if you like.

It's all but impossible with the likes of Trump however. I can't in any way manage it.

Of course all the Trump haters want Trump to concede and go quietly into the night but why should he if he genuinely believes there has been voter fraud?

He's entitled to fight it in the courts and entitled to recounts in states where the votes are close.

Also it's a bit rich for the Democrats to expect Trump to lose graciously to them after they fought to impeach him and attacked him relentlessly for the last 4 years.

He owes them nothing.
I hate the man, he is utterly without merit. It was always clear he was unfit for office, I wouldn't trust him to run a school tuckshop. But I don't want him to go quietly, I want him to go slow. Show the world what a miserable, nasty, selfish, lying man he truly is. The horror for what it is.
