Why could white people be voting for trump in such numbers? Sure religion is part of it but not in these numbers

The only conclusion i have is they are sick of wokism and not the equal rights part of wokism (but the other part that most sane progressives pretend doesnt exist).

And yet the Trumpers on here will be celebrating and gloating but for what I’m not sure.
Bragging rights

The democrats ran a horrible campaign akin to Albo's "trust us we'll get it done". Explain in minute by minute detail your plans to fix what was already broken during your current term!

Do you think Democrats constantly calling Trump a 'Nazi' and a 'Fascist' (1), as well as Biden calling their supporters 'Garbage' is a positive thing (2)?

Trump's had 2 attempts on his life in the lead up to the election (3).

Do you think it wouldn't have happened if Democrats didn't take this path? They needed to be better to stand out as a more appealing candidate to swing voters and moderate Republicans who don't like Trump (4) .

Then there's the constant fear-mongering(even in this thread) about how there'll 'never be a fair election again' if Trump wins(although I do note that Musk said the same thing about Harris).

For better or for worse(likely worse...), Republicans are very patriotic by nature and revere the constitution, especially the 1st amendment (5).

Democrats attempts to censor and silence political opponents has only served to reinforce their support for Trump and simply gave him free fodder for the campaign trail. (6)

Democrats simply don't seem to be able to relate to anyone outside of their core base at the moment and that has to change (7)
(1) it was people who worked for Trump who called him that. Inlcuding his vice president
(2) Not helpful, but Trump has been calling the country garbage for the last 9 months
(3) Both by right wingers
(4) Kamala is as moderate as they come. Fact is that the country is bitterly divided
(5) Bullcrap, they use it when it supports their own ends, and disavow it when it doesn't suit.
(6) Both sides try and censor
(7) Agreed something needs to change.

So, your economy's going so great that you can't afford rent and struggle to pay for groceries? Looking across social media these past few years, it seems this is a very common concern for low/middle-class income earners.

They don't really care that politicians and billionaires are getting richer off an improved economy, nor should they.
It's the same in most developed countries

They're going to get a rude shock when things don't improve by changing parties

Real problems for sure but not Democrat ones. More baseline poverty/lack social safety nets compared to other countries leaves far more people vulnerable in the wake of events like covid.

Surely we're not pretending a Republican admin would have avoided these issues.

That's some pretty good gains though for a republican candidate especially with the media rhetoric surrounding him.

It's interesting hearing the reasons people think the Democrats may lose this election is because in summary they're dumb racist misogynists'. But I hope the democrats actually listen to people that voted against them and learn from it rather than doubling down on that.
They did lose because enough voters are dumb racist misogynists. But Democrats shouldn't say that, they should try to appeal to dumb people (probably not bother with the racists and misogynists.

Trump is a convicted and admitted racist misogynist and clearly stupid. Just don't call his voters that or they'll never vote for you.

The Senate race in Michigan will be an interesting one. GOP have flipped WV, but the Senate will be able to keep Trump in check if he doesn't flip too many more. Failed in Wisconsin and New Mexico, and an Independent took a GOP seat in Nebraska.

Klobuchar(D) might be flipped out of Minnesota after 18 years
No one will keep Trump in check

Oh I don't expect them to improve but I can understand why fence-sitters wouldn't be stoked at voting for 4 more years of the same, especially when your presidential candidate said they wouldn't change anything they did in their previous term.

What, pretend they’re not dumb racist misogynists?
