Do you think Democrats constantly calling Trump a 'Nazi' and a 'Fascist', as well as Biden calling their supporters 'Garbage' is a positive thing?

Trump's had 2 attempts on his life in the lead up to the election.

Do you think it wouldn't have happened if Democrats didn't take this path? They needed to be better to stand out as a more appealing candidate to swing voters and moderate Republicans who don't like Trump.

Then there's the constant fear-mongering(even in this thread) about how there'll 'never be a fair election again' if Trump wins(although I do note that Musk said the same thing about Harris).

For better or for worse(likely worse...), Republicans are very patriotic by nature and revere the constitution, especially the 1st amendment.

Democrats attempts to censor and silence political opponents has only served to reinforce their support for Trump and simply gave him free fodder for the campaign trail.

Democrats simply don't seem to be able to relate to anyone outside of their core base at the moment and that has to change.
LMFAO

Trump has been quoted time and time again that he doesn’t follow the constitution or need to

I'm glad we don't have this same constant focus on how Chinese Australians/Indian Australians/Greek Australians etc. vote
We very much do in areas with those populations. Huge Indian population and voting base in this electorate so Labor fielded an candidate of Indian heritage and promised cash for an Indian cultural center. Was very much front and center of a lot of their campaigning here.

I agree that those voting for Trump get what they deserve. It's the rest of America - the women, LGBTQ+ and all those immigrants that are going to be deported that I worry about. As well as Ukrainians - if Trump stops funding them, Russia's going to walk all over them. China might take advantage and nudge Taiwan.

Plus if Kennedy junior gets the health portfolio, heaven help them all.

What a disaster it will be.
And yet the Trumpers on here will be celebrating and gloating but for what I’m not sure. Perhaps then they will be honest and say what they admire about the rapist racist misogynistic felon.

I've seen your posting before, you've very much made comments about how you'd vote for Trump for the lols.

It says a lot about the American public when you've got a guy who's actively spouting far-right rhetoric, is a convicted sex offender, a convicted tax fraud, tried to circumvent the democratic process last time he was in power and who lies at a rate never before seen in politics, and there's still tens of millions of people determined to vote for him.

Nothing Harris could do will win people over that are willing to overlook everything that Trump represents and still vote fro him.
Wrong, you've said this 100x to the point you believe it's true but it isn't. I do not vote

So, your economy's going so great that you can't afford rent and struggle to pay for groceries? Looking across social media these past few years, it seems this is a very common concern for low/middle-class income earners.

They don't really care that politicians and billionaires are getting richer off an improved economy, nor should they.

And yet they are voting for the billionaire and cheering on the world's richest man, who exponentially increased his wealth in the same period.

You can't reason with stupid.

Gained some. He's still losing those demographics badly. It's just instead of being 90-10, it's now 85-15, and that's enough to make a difference. But let's not pretend he's now a hero to minorities.
That's some pretty good gains though for a republican candidate especially with the media rhetoric surrounding him.

It's interesting hearing the reasons people think the Democrats may lose this election is because in summary they're dumb racist misogynists'. But I hope the democrats actually listen to people that voted against them and learn from it rather than doubling down on that.

The Senate race in Michigan will be an interesting one. GOP have flipped WV, but the Senate will be able to keep Trump in check if he doesn't flip too many more. Failed in Wisconsin and New Mexico, and an Independent took a GOP seat in Nebraska.

Klobuchar(D) might be flipped out of Minnesota after 18 years

This is just utterly wrong.

Dems arent deporting 20 million people back across the border. Unbelievable difference on border policy with trump.

Harris was definately going to push back against israel harder then they have been after the election while trump was going to make it even easier for israel then biden.

Harris offered that she wasnt going to make inflation sky rocket again like trump will by applying universal tariffs on imports and deporting millions of cheap labour. Not to mention that inflation has already returned to normal and wages growth has been outpacing inflation. Unlike in australia.

And trump wasnt going to allow roe vs wade to unwind either. Look where his supreme court justices took him. Naivity to think rights for women cant get a lot lot lot worse going foward under trump and a right wing religious congress and supreme court. Roe vs wade was only the beginning.

No.

I'd love the evidence that Harris was going to change course on Gaza. Was it body language?

Wonderful, Harris promised not to implement the same economic policies as Trump. That achieves nothing in political terms. Trump recognised that people are doing it tough and outlined some (fanciful) proposals to address people's pain. Harris put forward no proposals to ease people's pain.

A 'progressive' who has no positive economic policy in difficult times is not worthy of the name. You must give people something to hope for.

I'll reiterate that there were substantive differences between Harris and Trump, but I'm making the point that she was an average candidate who didn't have enough progressive credentials to rouse American progressives.

Well for a start you're Australian, so yes I know you don't vote in the US election.

But also, if you don't vote, but comment so much on politics, how about you try... voting.

Instead of complaining about the left, but also apparently believe in many of the key things the left is about.
