This is a real issue the left needs to tackle. I'm an openly active member of a left-wing party, all about fighting for real wage rises for working people, supported the voice, and weirdly got all sorts of praise in the office for taking on my wife's surname after we got married...yet when talking about supporting our students which was all about minorities I was mocked for suggesting we can't forget about the average guy who needs to feel included as well. Our promotional material just bounced around from LGBT material to Indigenous material...I got a huge eye roll when I wanted to do a little thing for grand final day.
