there are two things that irk me:
A) Compulsory voting
B) The fact that a felon who is a sexual abuser and con artist during a cost of living crisis (and prior to) is possibly going to become the President of the United States
The irony is that if the US had compulsory voting then Trump would probably never have become president in the first place.

People complain about it, but compulsory voting is a seriously under-appreciated gift.

To me, Iowa will be really interesting to watch given Selzer's poll the other day. Trump favourite to win however how close Harris can get or possibly pip will be so interesting to watch.

Florida is pretty much a red (Republican) state. The Republicans have managed to tap into the religious Hispanic vote in areas such as Miami. My mother-in-law comes from Central America and she's ultra-religious. She's the archetypal Trump supporter (to my wife's despair) and there's plenty of similar people in the panhandle.
Probably a fair few Cuban-Americans who hate Castro/socialism have been persuaded (dishonestly) that Dems are socialist in the same vein.

That, older migrants from other states and a popular Republican governor.

That's where Dems need to focus. Get a popular candidate for the next Senate or governor's race and start to chip it back.

Harris should have said that trump would crash the economy with his mass deportations.
Nah she should be tried to appeal to young people and said "Ong bruh fr Trump is a skibidi beta he about to fanum tax his gyat over the entire country vote for Harris if you're a sigma rizzler and give Donald Trump's campaign the ol hawk tuah!!"

I mean true, but for the most part a lot of people seem to think Harris is the likely winner, same with Clinton.

I do think there's a very good chance Trump wins.
I think you are making that up so you can come back later and said I told you so.

If anything, looking online most people who appear to vote Democrats seem to being saying exactly what you are, that is they saw 2016 so you can't be confident

I don't know man maybe I've been reading too many Reddit threads where everyone reckons it's a sure thing.

Reddit is heavily left-biased. It's the nature of the site.

It was always going to be close. And early signs are that at least Harris is keeping it competitive. Biden was a dead man walking and even if the Democrats lose, at least they made it a contest by convincing Biden to step down.

My poor brain reading that.

The Republicans have gained a Senate seat. Jim Justice, the Republican governor West Virginia, has won the Senate election after the incumbent, Joe Manchin III, an independent who caucused with the Democrats declined to run again after Mr Justice threw his hat in the ring. Mr Justice defeated Glenn Elliott, the Democratic former mayor of Wheeling. The Democrats didn't spend much money on the Senate race.

the vast majority of Reddit is 'its too close to call'

Then there are on both sides who think it's a forgone conclusion

I mean yes I think if Biden had run they'd be ****ed, Harris at least injected some life into things.
