Big Pharma wins that battle every day of the week. They'll slip Trump a couple million and it'll never be discussed again.
RFK is a worry but hes on the right track, he's just too big a ****wit to fix it

Fat? Here's a pill. Horny? Here's a pill. Angry? Here's a pill. It's ****ed how much influence pharma has, hes completely right going after it but will 100% implement the wrong shit

At least he'll try, I just hope they have someone smarter work with him. Same with preservatives and shit in food, he's right to tackle it, just get someone else on it

I've stopped watching the talking heads on TV, but based on their punditry, it appears that Harris didn't get the vote out like Biden managed in 2020.

This is the first chance the Democrat voters had to vote for her name at the top of the ticket since she ran for the presidential nomination in 2019 and they weren't fond of her then either.

If the democrats dropped Biden before their primary and not leading everyone on until after before installing their choice, they would have won today.

I do find it funny how much the right loves him even though he’s barely uttered a word in public.

They really do love the idea of a family ruling over them.
There was a joke made in Boston Legal years back that what America have always wanted, from their very beginning, is an American king.

both, as you stated
Yes but energy inflation rose 100 plus percent, agriculture 40 per ent and services less then 10 percent at peak. It suggests supply side factors were far more dominant.

If it was demand factors that were dominating then price rises would of been far more equal across sectors. Plus if it was demand factors then a recession would of been needed to bring down inflation.

Demand played a small role. Supply was the major driver.

You are so, so close to me agreeing with you wholeheartedly, but then you go and say the bolded.
What is funny though, is Trump did NOTHING for that group last time. He didn't lower poverty rates, reduce the cost of living etc. He passed tax cuts for his rich mates.

And in four years from now, that same group of people who flocked to Trump, will still be poor. Yet will still probably vote for him if he was allowed to contest another term. I don't feel sorry for them one bit. I think it's more of a fact the idea of making other people worse off, to drag them down a level appeals to those at the bottom, more than them actually getting any help themselves.

Democrats need to knuckle down on immigration. They need to talk strongly about reducing migration, and having a policy of "controlled migration". That means turning people back at the boarder.

The point being, if democracy is ending anyway, should they try and do what they consider to be right.

If the eggs are breaking no matter what, do you try and make an omlette or allow people to trample all over it?

Seeing as it might be unclear: this is not something I'm advocating for, but it's something that is would be telling as to the Democrat party's trustworthiness and spine.

think you are complicating this.

Democrats lost this due Biden refusing to let go early enough to let another candidate build momentum. Harris was a terrible choice from the get-go. She carried the same baggage Biden did and provided no green shoots from it.

Democracy isn't ending. Democrats just need to be smarter.

You don't think the wellbeing of 26 million people don't matter because they have the wrong skin color?
I think there are two parties in America: the party of the wealthy (the Republicans) and the party that does juuuuuuust enough to avoid the social contract failing, that gets elected whenever the populace is starting to get uppity and demanding things like healthcare and an economy that serves the entire population instead of the top 10%.

I think that people have always gotten it wrong: there are and have always been two parties for the wealthy in America. Just, one of them is honest about it.

Start with a white male. America is not ready for a female to run the show and I can't see that changing for a long time. He doesn't even have to be the best candidate. Gavin Newsome would be my bet. Go full left wing agenda and don't focus on anything other than how Trump has run the country. Don't attack him personally focus on what has happened. Hold him accountable for that like any other campaign. There's too many Trump sympathasizers out there that will get behind him if he's being attacked. It's clear as day alot have voted Trump because of it. Take all emotion out of it and let him drown instead and all his MAGA idiots will stand out for the wrong reasons. Right now their part of a majority.

That pre-supposes that Trump will run the country badly, which didn't actually happen last time, and rely on the despised MSM to spin it like that?

Oh and I see- repeat the "But Trump..." campaign of Harris, because repeating it again will work the next time around.

Xi could only serve two terms when he started. Putin had term constraints when he started

Trump will manufacture a way to extend his term limit if he wants just like they did.

All he needs is both sides of the house and a favourable supreme court.
Essentially turning it into a dictatorship.

But that's the thing: if they actually think it is, and thwarting the successful flow of democracy is inevitable, why not actually try and do what they think is the right thing?

Except I don't think they will. They serve different billionares but billionares none the less, and they don't like it when people actually try and change the status quo.

America has to be the only country in the world where voters do not care about facts. They often ignore facts and easily lap up some BS post on X that comes with no sources. Where they do not care about character as Trump and those close to him are actually dead set pieces of s**t humans, with the way they talk about other people etc.

They don't care about hypocrisy, because for some reason Biden's stutter made him unfit, but Trumps endless word salads about nothing is okay. They don't care about the economy, because it's doing well at the moment and Trump only serves the upper class. He did nothing to help the poor and middle class last time. Why would they think it will be different this time.

They don't care about class, because Trump has endlessly mocked people from the disabled, race, to military veterans. There was once a time where saying you liked Russia would get you called treasonous. Now people just fondle Putin's balls, because Trump and him are pals. They don't care about looking out for their fellow American because if Medicare and social security are cut, more people are pushed nto poverty. Thus higher deaths and crime. They don't care about honesty as Trump smashed records for lies told. They don't care about work ethic, as those around him said he didn't bother reading breifings each day and golfed a lot.

There was nothing honest or good about Trump, that almost every single person who worked around him and almost every single former party member have said he is not a good person. Yet despite all that, he still won. Shows Americans just need someone to say a few words that they like, and the rest is irrelevant.

But you know what? I don't even care. If America goes to shit, I will enjoy every minute off it given the damage America has historically placed on other countries over the years. Dont want to hear a single American complain. This is what they voted for, reap what they sow kind of thing. Will see in four years time.
Exactly. Sit back with some popcorn and laugh at what will happen. Dog eat Dog world you want? That's what you will get don't like it? Leave. Modus operandi of Trump.

The democrats need to go full class warfare and put in an actual left wing candidate.

Start offering change and hope rather then status quo.

2028 will be the first time since 2008 where the democratic party primary will be an full open field.
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez will still be very young (as far as politics is concerned, she'll be 38 in 2028) but she would make an AWESOME U.S President in my opinion.

I'd actually like that version of the United States.
