Bring in mandatory voting and that 48& would fall closer to 25-30%, imoNo not really. Trump will receive around 47/48% of the vote.
Whether he wins or not (because of the EC system) it doesn't change the fact that only about 10 to 20% of his voters would benefit significantly from his policies, the rest will be worse off.
As I said - collectively we aren't that smart.
I didn't research, those are off the top of my head.Wow Hilary and Maggie, they’re the only two women in your “research” you could find?
Ahahahaha pathetic
I agree that covid-19 was more historically significant, but in my view it was less shocking because it was a slow burn and I'd known for a while (from books and documentaries) that a pandemic was coming sooner or later.Nah. Covid breakout was a far bigger event.
I remember coming home from a shift around midnight and flicking the TV on to see the first tower on fire, then seeing the second plane hit. Couldn’t believe what I was seeing and had to tell someone so called my parents up who were sleeping and then they couldn’t go back to sleep.9/11 was definitely the most shocking news story in my lifetime. All these years later, it's easy to take for granted that three airliners were flown into two skyscrapers which collapsed, and into US military headquarters. For those born afterwards, it's just part of history and they'll never know the shock. You'd need to be over the age of about thirty to remember it.

Dunno what's wrong with people on here that just want to act like toddlers when you have a viewpoint that doesn't exactly match their world view.guess that's what happens when you enter a thread populated by those terminally online types...
Yeah possibly true. But I've always had a similar view as Socrates - absolute democracy is a bit overrated.Bring in mandatory voting and that 48& would fall closer to 25-30%, imo
Yeah possibly true. But I've always had a similar view as Socrates - absolute democracy is a bit overrated.
"Socrates was in many sense of the word, a skeptic. He had his doubts about democracy and argued that only those who think about it should be allowed to vote.
In one part of the republic Socrates argues with someone, asking him who should choose the captain of a ship, common people or sailors who are experienced and possess the knowledge necessary about survival on ships.
Socrates does not argue that only few on the top should choose the king. He simply wants a society that only ones that who possess the knowledge necessary to choose a leader votes.
His fear is that uninformed people are more susceptible to manipulations of those who are with ill-intent. A great rhetorician who has no intention of being a leader but to fatten their wallet, can easily sway the masses to vote for them."
In a nutshell
11am I think. What time are we expected to know some solid info?
Lower test scores are better explained by lower socio-economic standing than political affiliation.I had to look this up.
Which State Has The Best Test Scores? Analyzing Standardized Testing Trends
As online college and other alternative higher ed options have grown in popularity, standardized testing has become less important at the college level, with many colleges going test-optional. But high school students across the U.S. still take the SAT and ACT® to prep for college admissions. Atwww.forbes.com
Yes standardised testing is a flawed metric, but it's something.
The top five states are Massachusetts, Utah, New Jersey, New Hamphire and Connecticut. All except Utah are blue states.
The bottom five states are Mississippi Burning, Sweet Home Alabama, Country Roads West Virginia, New Mexico and Oklahoma. All except New Mexico are red states.
Hardest election to call in years with so many battleground states up for grabs. If you put a gun to my head, I'd say Trump should win, but it's hard to tell how much that's because of my personal news feed from the US. It's impossible to judge if you're getting impartial information any more.
If you watched Fox, you'd swear Trump was the next coming of Christ and the angels will be down to vote for him soon.
If you watched MSNBC, you'd swear Trump was a befuddled geriatric Hitler with slightly less amphetamines.
One thing which is consistent across the last few elections is that Pennsylvania will look like it's going towards Trump, he'll be ahead because they count the rural voters faster and they count postal votes nearly last which are usually pro-Dem. It'll trigger those who are certain of the rapture to start gloating and placing bets.
If Harris hits $4, based on early results in PA, like Biden did, it'll be worth a swing.
In my view (and I don't think I'm alone), lower socioeconomic status makes one more liable to support Trump and the Republicans.Lower test scores are better explained by lower socio-economic standing than political affiliation.

A quick glance and I'm familiar with most of the authors. Looks more like a collection of both extremes rather than any actual centrist, factual reporting. It’s actually relatively easy to tell if the news source is impartial. Pretty much all of them are padding a rhetoric angle, it’s just best to be a tad cautious about them. I like the free press on YouTube hosted by Barry Weiss. I found it quite even handed. Check it out mate.
