Once again, the negativity on here is astounding. We have lost to Geelong by an average of 70 points the last 4 times played and conceded 120+ with ease.

We have never been in the game vs Geelong at Half time, let alone right up until 3qt. The red time goals are a killer and the self inflicted errors are beyond frustrating.

However, as mentioned the last 2 weeks you don’t go from an all time poor side to an average side in 6 weeks. The improvement is clear as day and the positives of Sheezel, Xerri, Powell and even Duursma is as important as 4 points imo.

We have played 3 top 4 sides in the last 2 weeks. Blown out by Sydney, pushed Carlton for 4 quarters and pushed Geelong for 3 quarters.

Not all negative. At the mid point of the year I would have pencilled us in for 3, 70+ point drubbings and nobody would have argued against it.

2 winnable games next 2 weeks. Win both and we can safely say the worst is behind us. Play how we did today and last week and we win.

Geelong aren’t the team they were. Absolutely gettable today. And if our organisation is serious, should be expecting to win a few like this.

well they are top 4 for a reason. Did dismantle hawthorn by 8 goals only 2 weeks ago who are the form side in the comp.

We are 12-18 months away off wins vs top 8 sides mate. Judge on us how we go vs bottom 6, hence why next 2 weeks are so important.

SHEEZ, THAT’S A FRUSTRATING FINISH ROOS!

Let’s start a negative with a positive … Harry Sheezel is a superstar and is on track for his maiden All-Australian blazer and most likely a second Syd Barker Medal to boot.

His form is off the charts, having 36 disposals (25 contested) against the Cats, and he had a hand in all but a handful of Kangaroos scoring involvements.

That’s the good news; now for the bad news.

North Melbourne has come a long way in a competitive sense since the mid-year bye, but the frustration of getting overwhelmed late by elite sides remains.

Geelong kicked eight of the last 11 goals to turn what had been an entertaining and tight contest into a comfortable 40-point victory over the Kangaroos.

We know Alastair Clarkson’s young team is still a work in progress, but at some stage they have to turn competitive quarters and halves into four quarter efforts.

Little mistakes are hurting, including two horrible goal-line stuff ups that coughed up goals which shouldn’t have been.

The first might have been the worst of the season when Dylan Stephens was competing with Ollie Dempsey right on the line, but he missed a handball attempt to Aidan Corr.

Will Harry Sheezel be All-Australian?

Corr then had the chance to simply take the ball over the line for a behind, but somehow had the ball sharked off him by the enterprising Dempsey, who kicked the Cats’ opening goal.

Then, in the last term, confusion between Stepgens and Brynn Teakle deep in defence meant a spilled mark ended up with Shaun Mannagh, who nailed it.

The Roos meet bottom-placed Richmond next Saturday and then West Coast in Tassie the week after.

It’s time they ticked those two games off.

Watched the game again.

Not a single redeeming feature of the way we attacked or defended.

We are now dominating sides through the middle for long periods, and getting absolutely no results from that. That’s structure and coaching. We then lose control and have multiple goals kicked without a yelp.

It’s way worse than getting obliterated.

Sheezel is a star.

The Stockholm-syndrome of low expectations in this club is genuinely appalling.

You can see the Saints have a forward structure they like. We haven't worked out one yet. Put aside the huge hole of a small forward, we should be making more of the 4 medium sized marking forwards we have. They are an afterthought it appears right now and we seem to have made Larkey our Wayne Carey focus with 10% of the talent.

Really disappointing in our annual kick it to Tom Stewart game.
Was a little surprised pre-game to see Clarko mention they had no specific plan for Stewart. Looked almost flummoxed at the question.

He killed us today, and we just kept getting sucked in kicking it to him. Pretty poor stuff when it’s clear as day on telly, and the coaches and players cannot make the change.

I don’t feel as bad as I would if I were a Cats fan because they aren’t going deep

And it could be worse than that

I could be a * fan with Scotts

I think Cats fans will be feeling alright mate. They’ve got a recent flag, they’re still better than a lot of teams. And their culture would suggest that they’ll be up there challenging again soon.

Nah not an emo kid, just a realist
Nah, an emo focuses on the negatives, ignores the gains & ignores where you're coming from. We are coming from a long, long way back. The opposite of a realist.

That’s a worry. Most posters on Bigfooty were concerned about this, our million dollar man didn’t even have it on his radar. Sometimes i wonder if our team is getting slightly better inevitably because of the talent, and despite the coaching/gameplan.

Whereas clueless people ignore what’s right in front of them. And insane people think that doing the same thing again will produce different results.

SO they aren't what they were but are better than a lot of teams and will challange again soon.

Your opinions swing wildly based on what you are trying to justify.
