Having played against Collegians this season and knowing a few people at the club i must agree with SMG, Collegians were pretty unlucky to go down, apparently they were forced to use 42 players in the first 6 games and then went on to lose 5 games by under 10 points in the second half of the year.

But the fact is they did go down and you're right, the pressure is now on to perform, however a great strength that they did have this season was the fact that they had no champions but they played as a unified team week in, week out. I think recruits such as Arnott would only bolster an already very competitive outfit. Lets face it, he did come 4th in the SANFL league b&f!!!
By the way no side pumps up their recruits more than SKOB, do the brian!

Bad luck about Greenham going out to Roxburgh park with rombotis for some $$$. Get back in your box brian.

Jerker, I mean jogger,
you are right about these facts. SKOB will not be a major player this year, I hear they are rebuilding. Greenham has not played for SKOB since mid year when he decided he had had enough. Arnott should be good to watch, it's always a great get when these guns don't go to Xavs. My money, beleive it or not, is on the Lions and the Blacks to play off, with maybe Old Brighton and OEG making up the numbers.

Who are these so called mates???

Sorry pineapple, I don't want to bring names onto this board who are'nt active contributors. It would be unfair to them. I am only sorry that I have retired form playing as we may have had some altercation after the game whilst enjoying a beer. Like SMG, I'm a lover, not a fighter.

Fair enough then.

In regards to the Heritage move to Coleggians, what some people at OEG don't realise that football is not the be all and end all. The Heritage family including James made lifestyle change and as they say a change is as good as a holiday. James did not owe OEG anything and the fact they have turned on him so quickly highlights that they were not in fact true friends, but just pretenders exploiting Jame's football ability. His true friends have remained in contact with him and not held any grudges for him moving to the OC. In fact his true friends have supported this move while some people at OEG have not realised that life goes and that there is more to life than football.

Cheers,

TBP

Fair comment TBP,
obviously I have never even spoken to SMG, the OEG fellas need to take a step back and get on with life. I have been guilty of using this forum to sling s h i t at people but I went a bit to far. I hope he does play this year and kicks a bag against his so called 'mates'. He is probably sick of the drivel coming out of PEGS about he and his family. I suppose all it has done is mean he won't return there, which is sad for PEGS.

Have you girls noticed that you are really the only ones that post on here? why don't you all go and talk on msn? It's fine for SMG(sorry, I won't use your name again) to hang ********e on everyone else but when it's slung his way he doesnt like it?
I agree about my comments being low, and I take them back. The problem is SMG, most of my mates at PEGS are spewin at you and saying it was not you that made the decision to leave them.

At the end of the day, there is politics at every club and coming from SKOB, u of all people should know that. So Brian, I think u should get over it, all the ********** being talked about is last years news, so get the crap off your liver cos its over. Find a new topic.

I'm more than happy to discuss these issues over a beer with u Brian (God knows I probably have had a beer with you in the past, considering you are a SKOB from the Essendon area).

I think TBP's post above says it all really.

SMG, I agree, can you reveal any other recruits down there at The Lions den?

Brian

Not sure about Murray plaing this year, will have to wait and see. Not sure of the other signings, I'm not all that involved as I'm new to the club.

I must say, your back peddle in the above posts was more than called for. Some pretty ordinary comments there.

I can't really talk cos of all the crap I have slung around on these boards but you really have to draw the line at slandering a person's family and wishing career ending injuries upon them. Not even your mate Popey deserves that.

So in future, lift your game.

Also, can we get over Heritage, he takes up too much space on these boards!

A key defender from the school with AFL experience is close to being signed. I think you should be able to figure that one out

Should be a few players in B Section with AFL experience.
Old Brighton; Jackson
Collegiens: Arnott, Stone
SKOB: Ryan, Garlick, Williams, Ukovic
OEG: Calthorpe?
Blacks: Groom, Lalich
Beaumaris: Pitts
Anyone else know of any impending ex AFL players for B Section 06?

Garlick will play cameos again and Ryan is finished , Luke Williams will be good addition to SKOB

Maybe they should put together a B grade combined side to play Xavs in A grade next season??? Might have some competition for a change. :D

we can only hope the xavs players become as cocky and complacent as their hangers on

Pretty sure that both Lalich and Groom have finished their time at Blacks.
Luke Williams has signed at Sandringham. Ukovic was meant to go to SKOB last year wasn't he?
How many games did SKOB win when Greenham stoped playing? He is nothing short of a massive loss!

Caulfield: D.Kellaway

Hey Knobgrinder,

The score is on the board as far as Xavs are concerned.

And you know what they say, if you can't beat them... join them!

Friars will walk away with another B Grade premiership in 2006 :)

Sorry to be pedantic, but I think you'll find the Friars have only ever been in A Grade once (2004) and that was after finishing runners up to De La Salle in the 2003 B Grade GF. Hence they've never won one. So it would be rather difficult for them to win "another B Grade premiership".

Of more substance however, is your prediction that they'll finish first. Is this based on anything which has transpired in offseason?

Personally, I think they'd be on the 6th or 7th line of betting at present, comfortably behind SKOB and Collegians, with Old Brighton, Old Essendon, MHSOB and probably even Uni Blacks more fancied. That'd leave Beaumaris, Mazenod and Caulfield behind them. Mind you it was pretty tight last year, so hopefully the same will be the case in 2006.

We played whitefriars in the last game, a heap of their players retired after the game. I would suggest they would really struggle and would be big candidates for relegation. They were awful for large parts of the season last year, only saved by some early wins, after us they were the worst team in the section.

I wouldnt rate SKOB that highly , i dont reckon they're top 4. i i think Collegians , Uni blacks , Old Brighton , Old Essendon with Mazenod and Beaumaris back to C grade
