Yes, it will be an interesting year for SKOB, I still predict that they will 3 to 6 in B section, I would rather be there than keep losing first semi finals hey ff?

Well Brian, i suppose 3-6 is ok when you get relegated every second year!
Would rather be 6th than fourth?? Interesting logic!

Wouldn't say there is unrest @ the Blues. A recent delistee at Hawthorn (was drafted by Collingwood) has committed to the Blues this year, confirmed @ the digglers 21st.
If only the recruiting guy at Skob could land targets like that.
Skob are in need of a massive clean out.

What else have you heard. I've heard collegians have recruited a few handy types this season. Dixon might be the least of your worries...

Yerp - heard that too.

They've lodged registrations for Simon Arnott (fresh off a top 10 finish in the Magarey Medal), Nick Stone (ex-St Kilda, Hawthorn, Pies) and Ben Robbins (ex-WC, Bris and Kangas.

Given they were damn closing to staying up and have a lot of good young players sticking around, this will make Collegians a tough assignment for all other clubs in B section.

Correct Scribe.

However I think you forgot to note that Arnott came 2nd & 5th in the Magery in the past 2 seasons, and won Central Districs Best and Fairest in those years.

I think you will also find that Robbins won Port Melbourne's B&F last year.(Pls correct me if I'm wrong)

Stone is a VFL rep side player.

Some very handy types indeed.

the mail Collegians is dead right. They will definetly be the testing material in B grade.

as for the player walkout at Old Camberwell being attributed to the coach, you guys are barking up the wrong tree. Over the past 8 seasons OC have 4 very good coaches, all with differing strenghts etc. At some point the players must be held responsible for the unrest, not all 4 coaches could of been that bad.

I reckon OC is about the happiest its been for years and will hold its place ,at least mid-table in C grade

Geez SMG - will there be room for you come July this year?

Thanks for pointing out Arnott's outstanding SANFL credentials. Not sure about what Robbins did last year. Anyhow, it's all history, but certainly means Collegians would start the season odds-on for a top two finish.

I may very well struggle to break in to a winning side, plenty of tall timber too, no room for a washed up cripple on any of the flanks either.

We will have to wait and see!

Fair comment zoo, perhaps those that have left were indeed the trouble makers. However to say hat there was 4 good coaches in row is a load of crap. Ive been involved in C/D grade over the past decade and have been directly opposed to OC on many occasions. 4 good coaches is way off when the solid mail is from A grade to D4 and every man and his dog knows that the last of the 4 is deplorable. M.H and J.O not bad, nice blokes not that good either. The big red headed fella that was there 2 the previous years runnung was a bit of a nutter but we knew we were in for a spanking on the bench when we played OC. Better team list did not gaurantee you a win against him. Pay you the 1 of 4. Not just my opinion solid VAFA talk.

have to agree laugh. very hard to get 4 good anything in a row!!! the solid VAFA talk that you mention regarding the current coach is right on the money. have to say that it’s every man, woman, child, dog, cat, horse, etc, is on to this. my info indicates that no less than 16 players have left OC. to be fair to the current man, not all of it was his doing, but there were more than a few who have departed due to his reappointment. i thought MH was terrific – players played for him and he had the club united. he knew his footy too which really helps. apparently they have lost 9 of their top 10 b&f players - cannot see anything other than relegation for mine.

It's well known that the OC coach is a vanka, but having said that he is a good recruiter. They have signerd Sam Lowerson, a freak in any comp. He himself will keep them in C Section.

now brian, or should i say, nick, having a look through a number of your posts, you might just want to be careful about what you say as this is a public forum.

By his own admission 'the big red headed fella' would agree he was 'different',but calling him a 'nutter' is a bit unfair. He was one of the best prepared game day coaches and his antics rarely affected his actual coaching performance on game day. He was indeed ,as you infer, 'hard to beat'!
As for the current coach he's coping an unfair and unwarranted bake on this forum.Paul is doing a good job of changing the culture at Old Camberwell and this season ,despite all the negative stuff you read,is shaping well ,with the existing playing group enjoying the challenge of pre-season.
A few recent 'new faces' have further bouyed the group and by Round 1 OC and its coaching staff will be ready and ultra competetive.

Is it true that Old Essendon have lost Captain David Biggs & his brother Tim to the Bendigo Bombers...?

I also hear that their Vice Captain Daniel Flaherty is chasing pineapples in Bendigo as well.

This would surely leave Old Essendon very light on for quality players this season.

Benny appears to have a stutter

I know my comment was politically incorrent.

I should have said that Benny is vocally challenged, but as we are on a written medium, that comment would have been obsolete.

He's been chasing pineapples for a long time now, Ned Williamson is jumping for joy now that the valuables bag he has fiercely guarded for years is no longer needed down at OEG

Lets have a tally ho at the B Section end of season ladder.

Collegiens Lots of talk
Uni Blacks Lots of talent
Old Brighton Gadsen is back
St Kevins A Section last year
Caulfield Building nicely
Old Essendon Biggs losses a huge void
Whitefriars Lost a lot of players
Mazenod Can Maskell turn them around?
MHSOB First year coach with a lot of retirements
Beaumaris Can't rely on Pitts forever.

Thoughts gents?
