It would be a good idea if the VAFA could stage the 2017 VAFA Premier Grand Final at Trevor Barker Oval in Sandringham. Imagine how big the crowd would be if St Kevin's plays off against Collegians, or Old Xaverians.

Could it be as big as AJAX -v- St Bedes Mentone ?

HAHAHA, didn't take long.

Never. Standout game of the decade. I had a standing invite to go there, but was knackered after my own game in Preston and (like an idiot) decided it wasn't worth driving down.

I'm still after a freebie DVD of that game. Mine got lost in a house move.

Could anyone foresee what would happen after the 2006 C Section Grand Final for St Bedes Mentone coach Luke Beveridge who led the Tigers to that epic victory over AJAX, would 10 years later lead the Western Bulldogs to its first VFL/AFL flag since 1954 and hand his coach's premiership medal to injured skipper Bob Murphy?

I did. It was inevitable. I put $100 on it with Maplebet in 2007.

Took 10 years to collect, but now I have a deposit for a 2 bedroom unit in Hawthorn.

Easy money.

Thanks Canada

Ah yes.. I remember that. You came up to me post game and said that that Luke Beveridge character was swinging around his vafa medallion like he didn't care for it. You said, that if he made it to the AFL and won a flag..that you wouldn't be suprised if he just gave it away to an injured player who didn't receive one.
I gave you $8000/1.
Fortunately for me i had a saver with Pendlebet so all good.
Phew.

We're you around the VAFA in those days, didn't think Maplebet formed till 2014.

Back then, I was a skinny teenager lurking around TABs and the bookies ring at Moonee Valley most weekend/meetings.

This guy in a check lumber jacket approached me and seemed super friendly for a septic. Turns out he was from further north of the International Boundary. The exotics he was offering were juicy. Wish I'd taken the Bevo special into Leicester FC to win the EPL in 2016. Would've been able to buy Tasmania.

Could any of the stars departing the AFL suit up in the VAFA (for the love of the game) in 2018?

Would be a huge chance.
All stars leaving VAFA would be cashed up and would far prefer to be playing our incredible model compared with the bogan alternatives.
The network, as per normal, will be super important during the months of October - December.
Exciting times for bold initiatives and hard working commitees.

Tend to disagree.......Physiclly they would be pretty well shot, having to "get up" from one sat to the next would be pretty daunting for 250 game AFL player, not withstanding past and present ongoing injuries. Physio and medical care avail from most clubs (vafa) would be well below what they would require from what they would have received from their AFL days.

the sharks to be turned into flake by the scholarly blacks.

hard to describe the hedgeburners disappointing season but i subscribe to the view they will proscribe canada’s lads to being 2017 also runs. thoughts will now be turning to whose name will be inscribed on the 2018 hedgeburners coaching contract.

wesleyans to have too much talent for the gallant worker dees.

the clean as a whistle st kev’s/afl2s to display the benefits of their upmarket recruiting and coast to victory over the scholarly blues and become odds on for the flag at maplebet.

grammar to comfortably despatch mentone in a game that has no real meaning.

Blacks to fillet the Gummy's

Colls over Dairy Bell, but just....

Uni Blues, Upset of the season over Skobs.......

Xavs over H/Burners, after a big scare...

OM's over Mentone...

I am now convinced that Jascave is a bot, and every year the same posts are triggered around finals venues, predictions, the Big V and a smattering of Rovers talk put in for the human touch.
