Correct. No getting ahead of ones self. Both clubs desperate to ensure they nail at least a draw in the remaining 13 rounds to avoid relegation. Surely there won't be three clubs with 6 or more wins come season end. Lids are on.
Think you should review the odds for the game due to Collegians having that big advantage of training under lights.

Must say I'm surprised SKOB don't have lights at the million dollar 'King' sporting colosseum to allow the AFL dream team to accustom themselves to such conditions. Major construction oversight that.

See the College is about to open a state-of-the-art sporting complex in the Hawthorn area. That money tree just keeps on giving. As does Stonnington Council it seems.

Geez old mate, that chip on your shoulder is turning into a big fat potato wedge. What has Stonnington Council got to do with anything?
Don't worry about the $38 million facility in Tooronga, it was paid for by hard working, every day non elites like my good self through school fees and fund raising activities. No one gave us anything, anything suggested to the contrary displays a lack of any real knowledge of our school community, everything is hard earned by our school and our club and we wouldn't have it any other way.

As far as footy goes, with 34 teams at St Kevin's College, 10 senior teams at the Old Boys with a fourth under 19's and a third women's team to come next year, hopefully we will be able to keep offering local kids a game of community football, whether they are female or male, as well as a place to feel safe in an encouraging and respectful environment.

I'd also like to take the opportunity to thank the outgoing VAFA CEO for his 100% support of SKOB becoming the largest football club in Australia, despite the OX twitter still insisting that they are. We love you Sholl!

Hopefully the great Brian Goodman is appointed to run this competition, now there is a man of the people who understands what hard work, sacrifice and fair play is all about.

Looking forward to having a convivial with you on Saturday evening AM Old Mate.

Sooner he's gone the better. Seriously if SKOBS go like your saying , all the rest of us , gifted school teams and good hard working suburban clubs might as well pack up and retire. Why would you want 4 under 19 teams, give the kids a chance to play decent footy, instead of grading them. Good luck with a bought A grade flag.

Nothing wrong with boys wanting to play amateur footy with their mates? What's it matter if it's one team or ten teams? All other clubs will benefit, the bloke at St Mary's Dolan played in the SKOB ressies and one senior game, he's doing alright along with Jay Cantebury for those blokes.
No-one has bought a flag in A Grade, A Section or Premier since Ormond in the 1980's.

How did I know that would come up, surely the pre season investigation is still on. Had nothing to do with me as I was in greener pastures.

C'mon old Cobber, Stonnington dropped in millions at T.H.King and they trumped up plenty at Tooronga too.

I know the Trust works hard for the sporting facilities at the College and even some old boys clubs. Good on them for so doing and giving of their time, funds and organising functions et al. Even though $100 for some finger food for the privilege of rubbing shoulders with Bucks was a tad rich. A good night though, I'm told.:)

Also disagree that the comp would flourish under Benny's stewardship. There are many much better qualified people in the market place with records of achievement that would dwarf Benny's. The value of bringing in some fresh thinking shouldn't be underestimated either.

Still concerned about the advantage the Purples will have due to their home ground lighting are we?;)

I also here that's its war at EP headquarters at the minute. Down to 2 candidates and the delay is not helping.

Briza, a bit before my time - what was the story there?

Briza, you need not worry about what Xavs spruke and promote on their own website. I can assure you nobody at Xavs gives consideration or cares at all re anything SKOB do.
Your own club is always the best club whether you have 1 or 30 teams. This we'll never change. You can tell us all about the growing teams at SKOB and how huge they are until you are blue in the face.

Solid piece of self congratulation. Too much of that can affect one's eyesight. And Mad Mondays in May are a tad premature.

I will note that nabbing that Tooronga site was a masterstroke from the river-dwellers. Benefits will come for decades.

I'm disappointed it's under lights, IMO from what I saw last year they aren't up to standard to host a Premier match. I also think it's a big advantage to Collegians as they train under those dimly lit conditions but it is what it is.

As far as both of these clubs go, it's fantastic that they are sitting at the top of the ladder at this early juncture, neither will be getting ahead of themselves but will be happy with the three game break to fifth.

BS, are you sure you were at the Trott? If so you, must have had welders goggles on. A number of games have been played their in
there short life time and to the best of my knowledge non of the losing teams have ever complained. As for an advantage, there is none.....all Clubs train under lights, candles or Lighthouse power, doesnt matter.

FWIW home teams should not have any home ground advantage! o_O

Bedford-baiting aside (stop it, please), wouldn't Haileybury be the most recent?
Don't fall for the arrant nonsense about the Monders OTP. It was home grown talent and good coaching that got the club that success. With a little help from former De La students before that club got its act together with player retention. Thanks Rooster.:)

Ormond has never been a well-to-do club. More your working class battlers.

Bedders baiting has been a feature here for quite some time and often a source of some amusement OTP. In fact, I'd say he's a master baiter.
