need rockliff to stop getting injured. feel as if he is carrying the team, when he doesn't play brisbane doesn't play

I would have loved to have snagged Hinkley as a coach. He has done wonders for Port, even downhill skiers like Polec are excelling under him.

I would even give Woosha Worsfold a go. A premiership coach who I think still has a lot to offer.

Everyone would have loved to have snagged Hinkley after he became Hinkley. As for Worsfold, might get a go but I think everyone in need is now after the next Hinkley and I think Worsfold might now be on same level as Rodney Eade i.e. a good coach who just needs a quality outfit to finish off for a premiership. He might get another go at GC once Eade moves into Malthouse territory of being a bit of a list killer who's past it or perhaps into the Ross Lyon zone of being a guy who is just riding a list into the ground while in pursuit of a premiership. As Craig Foster says, its actually really hard to be a coach when you're one of only 18 in the whole world.

I turn 36 this year...spent the first 18yrs of my life in QLD and the next 18yrs in SA. So next year ill be more South Australian...So is that a good another excuse to jump off our rabble of a club? Is so... who what train do I jump on..Port or Crows? :D

Recruiting all these midfielders has turned out to be a huge mistake, our midfield was OK, total stuff up

Not sure I agree with this. It is evident that things aren't clicking but I back them to click, eventually (whether that is the latter part of this season or next I have no idea). The issue is once they do we still have shit bookends (the back is bookend is less shit than the front bookend though).

Never go Port. Ever, I beseech thee!! :)

I used to think that coaching changes can do more harm than good, and that a club needs stability to bring success, but I'm really starting to question that now. We are honestly playing the worst footy I have ever seen us play. Wasn't Leppitsch's main goal when he was hired as coach to stop the huge losses? Well after the worst percentage in Brisbane Lions' history last year, and a percentage that looks like it's going to rival that this year, I think we need a huge change-up in the coaching panel at the end of the season.

I believe there is a small amount of surgery that needs to be undertaken as well, removing a small section of the frontal lobe. :D:D:D:D:D

Two years ago when my son was born I agreed with the Mrs that he could be a Hawks supporter (mainly because he's on the MCC wait list and there'd be no point him following us/he'd get to go to Hawks games, he's a Little Hawk member in the meantime).

I used to say to the Mrs that by the time the little one is 5yo Brisbane will be back up the top and the Hawks will be down the bottom and he'll wish he was a Lions supporter. Yeah right!
Just wait to your little tacker is 35 and the Uzbekistan Lions are roaring up the ladder.

Damn, the club should give us a members/fans day one day this week so we can build some rapport - I don't wish to throw rotten fruit at them, I just wanna know...what's wrong here?

I made a comment about a meme that was posted with rocky during the week. I didn't convey my self very well, but this is a massive issue for me - the messaging out if the club is disgraceful. There is no sense of urgency or the need to talk us through this, they walk off the ground and shut the doors. This is not right. This whole scenario is not right.

De-listing a 24 year old Jordan Lisle looks a bit dumb too. He would be a walk up start in our side at the minute. He would certainly have been a better prospect at full forward than anyone I have seen this year. Who made that call?

I don't know what the stages of grief are but fifteen minutes into the second quarter I attained pure acceptance. Barring miracles we are not winning more than four or maybe five games this year, and I accept that...

It shouldn't take too many more stubbies for me to move to the next level, which I believe in Perth is called 'rowdy'.

They destroyed him trying to turn him into a fullback. Remember that game he played against Geelong at full forward? Exact type of player we need right now, he wouldn't of been on huge money would he? Kicked a few goals for Port Melbourne last week, not sure how he went today.

4 Coach's in 3 years is really ging to fix things.

Yes we got Beams and co over the offseason, but how many have we lost?

I am not sure what the answer is, but we have to give Leppa longer, you can't put lipstick on a pig, player retention is the issue, Eddie has gotten his way and we wont be competitive until the AFL fixes the rules so players like Aish can't just come up here with every intention of going home.

Maybe this should be in the Positives thread, but at least you know for sure that we've reached rock bottom when supporters start pining for Jordan Lisle.....

Yep, last year we had a full blown problem at full forward, so much so we played Merrett there all year for a return of 12 goals and what do we do? Delist a 196cm 24 yr old who can play full forward and draft three midfielders. Go figure.

Staker should never play again, green is over weight and lazy - needs to go and get a personal trainer or something, Paperone is not up to AFL standard and he is a waste of time he will never make the grade, Robertson lacks class I don't see him making it just a dumb footballer, Golby wouldn't get a game at any other AFL club he should not be picked for the rest of the year. Adcock is shithouse and looks like he has a chip in His shoulder, he should make way for a player to devalop, claye beams is average and I don't see him becoming a great player.

The only players that can hold their heads are dizzy, rich, B Beams, steph, Clarke.. Wouldn't begrudge any of those blokes looking to continue their career elsewhere (unfortunantly for beams he's stuck) next year, waste of talent at brisbane. I find myself looking at Rich thinking, "this guy needs to be in a freo jumper" too good to waste his career at brisbane any more.

He's kicked 5 goals for Port Melbourne in 2 games this season, which probably equates to 20 goals in the NEAFL if Staker can kick 5 in a game.

Not pining, but he would be a better prospect in the forward line than anything we have seen this year. Doing well at Port Melbourne and let's be honest, they are a better football side than we are at the minute.

Huge vent is that the skills, game style, attitude etc etc of the reserves after one quarter just now is light years ahead of what the seniors coughed up tonight.
