Seems very injury prone.
Kreuger is very injury prone. If he wants to continue his AFL career, he needs to rein himself in and not throw himself wildly at every ball. He has got the size and talent to be a good player, and he could be a valuable swingman, capable of playing forward, back and relief ruck. I think he tries too hard to be a star instead of aiming for being a role player. If he can achieve that, he might even go further.

lol wonder how he likes them apples after he thought he was too good for us
Thought he had some negative comments about the place after he left, surprised to see him back

I am happy to see Kreuger back. If he can get his body right, he is worth a shot. Maybe a mid season upgrade!
I'm surprised at the negative comments about him going to Collingwood. Like all young hopefuls, he is trying to have a career and make a living and if he thought his chances were better at Collingwood thats fair enough. We did have guys like Hawk and Jez in front of him!

Hope he gets a clear run at things.

I didn't see any negative comments from him, but he just basically has failed to acknowledge the place existed or actually gave him his first shot.. Even his first game for the Pies on social media it was as though it was his first ever AFL game.
Comes across like a flog who thinks he's a star... Might be a great whack to his ego, and tbh he's a good VFL level player so it is a good pick up

it had been a long time between games due to injuries so it may have felt like game #1- bit like when Menzel returned for us 9(v Pies) but not as long as that break was

Hadn't been that long... He'd played for us mid year and then played for the Pies round 1 or 2 first year he was there.
He just came across as seeing himself above us IMO

He is but he is quality at the state league level when he's out there. Honestly a lot of our other talls (Edwards, molier, polk, even pike) are kids who will need time so IF we think he's going to stay fit I'm happy to have him as coverage-essentially he's an upgrade on jeka as a mature kpd type.

I wish I saved it but a few weeks ago his mrs was trying to sell all his pies gear on marketplace 🤣

Excellent assumption and agree on all points Kitcat: Thought Nathan Krueger had makings of excellent AFL player and to some point I still do but his lack of awareness of how to use his body and physic along with using general footy nous in regards to that has been poor, hence many unnecessary injuries and accordingly, has never had a proper shot at it. Reckless abandonment, lack of awareness or nous, being better than he thinks he is or his footy capabilities, hard to tell but if he can 'get smart' and learn to play the game without being continually injured he still can make it forward or back.... good move by Cats for both VFL but also possibly reigniting his AFL career at some point down track, coz Nathan Kreuger does have football ability of which many AFL players are limited.

Thats the question to me. Obviously we recruiting hoping for a degree of robustness. One might say if he could have shown that he might still be on a list.

:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

I wonder if she is selling her ON athletic gear as well after getting dropped from her professional running team

I know this sounds petty of me, and that is only because I want to be :tearsofjoy:

How do you rate him as a footballer? Tryhard at best, or is there definitely some untapped skill there? Have rarely noticed him.

Kreuger is definitely untapped skill.
I agree with some that he needs to temper his kamikaze as he's not durable enough to survive like that. I thought some of his football at the pies was decent. I think he's capable of being a decent role player if his body holds up (but we've had numerous Geelong players that have had bodies not hold up).

isn't it just par for the course that the player has to be seen to be "all in" with the new club? Even an acknowledgement of having been drafted somewhere else will be jumped on by fans at the new place.

i often wonder whether our expectations that professional athletes in the second and third tier - always precarious, always on the defensive - should have all the grace and poise of the elite, who have been groomed within an inch of their lives since they were 12 in how to curate their public identities so as to build sympathy and admiration, are just a little unrealistic.
