You don’t know whether someone could be until they are given a chance.
And he was one of the best key defenders this year. He’s very versatile with also playing forward too

I always felt he should have been given a chance

I wouldn't mind if they gave Glove a shot. He only really had 2024 as a full time defender and he was one of the only bright spots about the VFL program for the year. He is slowish (laconic) but he reads play well and takes marks cleanly. AND he's got that beautiful left foot coming out of defence. Might be good backup if we can't land one in the draft. He's got 3-5 years left at least.

If we have a SSP spot and look for a defender, we could let him trial. Won out Bnf and all, that would garner attention from the higher ups.
Very good chance we may not even have a spot available though unless we pass on our last pick in the draft.

Sadly, players like Glover are the victims of reduced list sizes. Might have already have been given a chance if we still had 46 or 48 list spots.

Yeah. The list sizes should have been increased back to precovid but seems that won’t happen

Understand feeder comps would lament the talent drain, but if it wasn’t linked to an increase in TPP, I see no reason not to increase list numbers. Be helpful to develop a pool of potential players for Tassie if nothing else.

I'm a big believer in increasing rookie spots to 10. It would give lots more youngsters a chance at AFL and improve the VFL at the same time.

I agree. Have more rookie spots it’s cheaper as well given a portion is outside the cap

I hope we have some good players lined up. Vfl team was pretty dismal last year and it really hurts the match readiness of afl depth as well as development of young guys, particularly forwards.

Hope we are getting rid of dead wood as opposed to everyone fleeing the sinking ship...

The ones that are disappointing is Sparkes, Lane and Schreiber. The others I understand for looking for more opportunity.

Injuries to senior list players the main reason we struggled this year.
