The 2025 Smithy’s VFL season will commence the weekend of March 22-23, which will again align with Round 2 of the Toyota AFL Premiership Season.

Preseason resumed last night. And they have cut some players pre-christmas. But reckon there is still 35-36 players and we can only have a maximum of 30, so still more decisions need to be made.

I've been told the ones wearing the black jumpers are already signed.

There was a couple on the rehab bikes too but I think at least 20.
I didn't see Wilson yesterday, so not sure how many were missing. I'll take a look tomorrow.

There are also 2-4 extras I don't recognise, so we could have up to 24 re-signed, which goes with what I heard there is around 5-6 spots left.

Zane Cochrane — who played a game for us last year is training with us. If he plays as an overager for the chargers I can see him playing some games as the 23rd man. I don’t think you have to be officially on the list? Or does that only apply to those in their draft year?

I think you are right. Although Boston Dowling was a 19 yo with Oakleigh last year and in our VFL list

Didn't see Mathey at both session this week, so maybe he is no long part of the squad.
I did see Wilson though
also Christian Algeri was in black, he played a game or two for us last season.

Yeah i thought that was gonna be the case, but he's been at every session in black for most of pre-season so far. His re-signing is yet to be announced though.
