I have seen Leigh Tudor's name on the list, I'll vote for Choco.

When Brown and Black call it a day eventually, our list would be back at that development age bracket where Choco does some of his best work. I liked what Choco did with GWS in their first year, teaching a bunch of kids to play a brand of contested footy that made the comp sit up and take notice.

Choco has been incredible at the tigers, he is basically the on field coach.. I love how much freedom hardwick has given him to voice his opinion to players on the sideline..

Choco basically is a senior coach, and was pulling all the strings at GWS last year before now making an impact at Richmond.. Why isn't Mark Harvey on the sideline giving direct instructions and motivation to our players?

Vossy does that at times.

Was funny on Friday seeing Browny sitting in Voss' chair.

Would John Worsfold be a choice now?

He'd be one of the few I wouldn't mind seeing Voss moved along for. This year's assistant coaches are a pretty uninspiring lot on the face of it.

Not sure if the link I have inserted works or not, but an interesting article by Emma Quade this morning in the Age, contrasting different approaches to "re-building".

She makes the point

West Coast finished last, three-and-a-half years ago. The Eagles won four games for the year. Seven times, it was beaten by 10 goals or more. One day it lost by 99 points, another time an even hundred. What did it do, come the end of the year? Nothing, really.
The Eagles of 2010 are a good example of how it can often take the football world a while to catch up with a) a team's most pressing problem areas and b) what has already been done by that team to start addressing, if not always or necessarily remedying them.

Not saying this necessarily reflects the Brisbane situation but it does hightlight that there are a numbe r of approaches the club can take and there are risks to all of them.

If Dean Bailey was still in charge - IMO they'd be playing finals by about now.

Look, do we want Paul Roos? Is Paul Roos the coach we want? I don't know. Now I don't know what they say behind closed doors, but your Goodesy's and Joey's and Jacky's are quality plaaaaayers, they're quality plaaaaayers, and even big Reidy and Pikey and Benny these are all quality plaaaaaaaaaaayers, and it doesn't happen overnight, it doesn't happen overnight that your Jude's and your LRT's and your Jetta's become quality plaaaayers, and like I said I don't know, but they're quality plaaaayers.

Was that Roosy or Gary Ayres?

Could've been a bit of both, maybe they're separated at birth!!!

You may have answered your own question in your preamble to it.

winning the contested footy is very important. Winning the contested footy will allow us to spread and run a lot more for example. If we are winning the contested football it is IMO the first step to success it just makes everything else that much easier. We just have to find a way to get the hands on the football first and at this stage we are getting killed week in week out. Back to basics.

What was so demoralising against Collingwood was the 2nd step, when we had the pill we didn't offer too many options for the ball carrier.
So many Lions players were unwilling to run for to create an option. To me the basic desire to get involved or inject themselves was lacking, not the fact we lost the clearances, (but may be the same reason we loose the clearances).
I do agree though the first step is to win the contested footy ,which will only come with a desire and will .
this team just doesn't have it week in week out. Non negotiable in my book. Keep that going and the paying members may adopt the same lack of desire, ( some of my fellow Lion supporter mates already have).
The team just don't appear to switch on. Is this a coach deficiency , nah it's up to the professinal players to do that themselves or for each other.
Voss seemed to sum up the lack of intent at the press conference after the game,he said it was unacceptable.
I hope VOSS left nothing in the tank when he gave it to the players and used words more fitting than unacceptable , and if he didn't that would be the crime of the century.

What I find amusing is the "Should we get Paul Roos?" thread on the WCE board.

I haven't checked the other boards, but I wonder just how many various teams' fans are dreaming of their sides being coached by Roos next year?
