On Macrae's and Hunter's games: I'm hoping people are starting to see what I've been seeing regarding their work rate. I've probably sounded like I have an agenda at times, harping on about how they don't work as hard as people think they do, but honestly it's just a really weak aspect of their game that needs to be improved. They both got found out yesterday for application and for work rate and I think they'll be better for it, but it's a problem that needs to be addressed. Credit to both - Macrae especially - for recovering and having an impact in the fourth quarter, they really rebounded with some good efforts, and that's why I think yesterday was good for them. Hopefully they can bring that sort of application every week now.
Yes, this lack of work rate was pretty obvious yesterday. Lachie, in particular has to be more aware of where and how to go to pressure opponents when they have the ball, he's often way off the action. Jack has been good in this regard but he is obviously tiring and not able to sustain his effort. Both are very young in body and with some more coaching and body strength, they will get there.

If you don't look at the slow motion - jones did nothing wrong. The players blind turned into his shoulder

Not sure what clip you are watching. Terlich has possession of the ball, jones bumps him in the head. He had a chance to tackle instead of bump, made high contact and KO'd the guy. Will get 2 weeks.

Happy with a gutsy win. Melbourne were tough and we out worked them in the end.

Regarding the Crameri free kick.
If you try to take a mark or make a spoil by jumping into your opponent, and if you miss the ball altogether, it's interference all day long.
That's what happened. Free kick.

Credit to Williams. Maybe he should be kicked in the shins every week, before he runs out!

Will Grant be ready to return after the bye?

Looking forward to a stress free weekend.

I'm not sure who are scarier looking, these guys or the masked ones!:p

Doc Larkins says Tory Dickson could miss 2-3 months for the Bulldogs

Top effort from Williams it went a long way to helping us win the game.

Liberatore was a level above.

It was a tough game, Roos has got Melbourne actually playing competitive footy again i'm sure the Melbourne fans would be happy with him. I'm happy to see the Dees actually have a proper crack again.

Roberts played decent enough I thought will hold his spot, Jones will be gone for 2 weeks.

The umpiring was a pretty poor standard I thought as well and I don't understand how the boundary umpires are struggling to throw the ball in.

Happy to get the win we needed it.

Does anyone else share my extreme hatred for Lynden Dunn?

Absolutely putrid, talentless hack who loves to mouth off and act like a tough guy.

Here's a news flash for you Lynden: mouthing off and pretending to be tough (and you're not) doesn't really work when you're the worst footballer in the league.

I even recall him having the nerve to do it to Paul Chapman in the height of Melbourne's 186 point epic against Geelong a few years back.

Would not get a game at any other club in the league. Would even be embarrassed to have him at Footscray.

Geez big blow for Dickson if true. Assuming Williams and Jones miss do we bring in Redpath? I'd be very tempted to just to see whats he's got at the top level. He's in form, 23 years old now and pretty much on his last chance, I'd love to give him 2 - 3 weeks and just say show us what you've got. Who knows he might just step up.

Bad luck for Tory, good news for Spindleshanks. If he wants the spot, it's there for him. All he needs to do is work his ass off in the 2's returning from injury and he will get a shot

Just watching the replay where Frawley beat Stringer in a marking contest and Pederson tapped Stringer on the head. I must have missed it, when did Pederson ever do anything good in an AFL game?

That time he shinned one from the boundry. He must have though it was class.

He was regarded as a bit of a w***er at North, hence their eagerness to trade him. Will always remember him for his head-duck in a marking contest last year. Coward.

The correct call from the Umpire there should have been: high contact, free kick Stringer. The head is sacrosanct.

Actually, the reverse angle of that marking contest shows Frawley sticking his hand on Stringer's head before the mark too.
I'm sure Stringer just puts these things in the short term retribution folder anyway ;)

Was at Blairgowrie for the Weekend on a Getaway, only flicked on Channel 7 at Half time to watch 2nd Half. Watched a bit of First Quarter on Match Replay just then and once again I take my hats off to Wood. Amongst his efforts in the 2nd half I'm not fresh on since last night, His simple ones in the first Q were just outstanding. Spoils, one hell of a lunging tackle and one moment when there was a suicidal play-on airball where you would get mauled the instance you'd jumped high to grab the death ball, he took it with both hands for the pure desperation, landed, kept composure with a handpass which I think led to the Johanissen behind. Has had an extraordinary month and absolutely lovin it, I well and truly have an Easton Wood
