I will just comment on East Perth.

Mossy is coming back from injury this week and will play some part in the game. My team to make the 18's would be;

Matty Seal, Jarrod Oakley-Nicholls, Matthew Leuenberger, Shawn Colbung Jnr, Dean Howlett (or James Kendall) and Danny Smith.

Oakley-Nicholls has been viewed by a few scouts this year. Quick and tall but reasonably skinny at the moment he has a great disposal.

Dean Howlett has been poor for 2 weeks now im not sure why but at times he doesnt chase and if the ball isnt kicked to his chest he just doesnt seem interested. He will get a gig no doubt or if not James Kendall will get his gig. Two big boys those are!

Still a very big squad.

Already there a number of 'famous' names that a junior footy novice like me recognises. Seems like there are quite a few stars in the making in that squad...

I will get back to you on that one GOALden as i work with the East Perth youngsters.

I havent seen the other squads or dont even know much about them but i would say now that the WA squad should (on paper) be up there this year. I've seen some really good youngsters this year and i would hope that quite a few of the East Perth boys get drafted.

The Brisbane scout has been at a few of our games, Neil Blame was watching Seally for the league last Friday night.

Question on the South boys since I am in Victoria now...hope someone can help...

I have heard that Scott Delmenico is playing far below his capabilities and the standards he set for himself last year? Any comments?

Obviously Jetta (Leroy) and Clay Collard would be there, but I have heard Ninyette is killing them...interesting, as Jarryd has had some issues away from footy...can anyone tell me where he has been playing?

Great to see Cal Wilson in the squad - responded to missing state 16s last year by taking over chb in a very strong colts side...I hope he makes it.

haha, yeah I wouldn't want that trucking company bringing my belongings across the nullabor :D

For those WAFL fans, have any of those guys in the U18s squad played WAFL seniors yeat this year?

Matthew Seal (EP)
Leigh Conway (EF)
Mitchell Clark (EF)

Cameron Heisse (Subiaco) played reserves last week aswell

Have they changed the 'rules' again? I thought that they were basically 'banned' from senior footy until after the championships?

My understanding was they could play senior footy but not reserves, so not sure how that works with Heise.

But it's not like the past couple of years when they had to wait until the Carnival - Clarke has been playing seniors since Round 1.

The new ruling is that they have to have played at minimum of 5 Colts games before they can be picked in the League team.

Seal has been improving with each game in the seniors and is beginning to adapt well. Clarke will be a standout at the carnival if his form at East Freo is anything to go by.

Round 7 Andrew Swallow also played in the Reserves picking up 19 Possesions and 7 marks. Is Mitchell Sewell still eligible for U18s? Monteath s in good form.

O'Halloran has been good up forwrd for Subi and has been getting lots of ball as well as lots of goals. Jarrod Adamson-Holmes (related to Todd Holmes ex Eagle) has been amongst the best each week.

I go to uni with Sewell and he is a good bloke but he isnt eligible.

Ive been told the WA 18's side wont be picked till either next weekend or the weekend after but the list for the side isnt out yet according to the players themselves.

Matthew Seal is a midfielder come HFF when resting. Can kick with both feet and cool under pressure. Captain of the colts side but playing league football at the moment. Would of kicked about 9 goals in 5 games of colts football and numerous possesssions. Last game of colts, 25 possessions and 4 goals. Not getting much game time in the league and injured himself last night.

does anyone have an opinion on jarryd morton. i think in his 4 colts games has kicked 7,5,2,1. he is playing school footy with hale at the moment and is going to eligible next year. i would have thought he would go close this year?

morts can play and will be taken IMO so the eagles can do what the pies have done with the clokes and get them all. all can play and one or two may be stars at some stage of their career.

interestingly enough there is a 3rd embley trialing with the 16s also

18s should be VERY VERY competitive in the right conditions

Any good pacey midfielders/onballers/crumbers with silky skills in the WA squad?

leroy jetta or clayton collard. both eletric aboriginal boys and highly rated. i dont think they are eligible this year though.

What about moss.. is he any good?

Moss is a very talented player in my opinion has great goal sense, is very fit and is one of the best tackelers that i have seen in his age group. so if the goal sneak position didnt work out he could play in the midfield
