Not that i could say any east perth players are champions but a champion team is better than a team of champions . It appears the wafl teams that play together all the time have a system east perth hasnt got
Yeah seems to be the way. This happened RD 1 last year too if I remember correctly

Yeah you're right. Let's talk about the 16 to 93 score line instead.

Sorry, I'm just sick of the whole Subway thing, don't find it funny.

This board has some cracking on-going jokes and some real highlights last year (Masten's tribunal being the best.)
But the Subway this is just so overdone, I don't need another thread infested with it.

Anyway.

Thanks for the updates for those who can watch, annoying not being able to listen would have liked to get an idea of how the game is.
Stats-wise a lot of guys look solid - Cole, Redden, McInnes, Party, Barrass - but obviously not very effective.

West Perth have been woeful; they can't even hit 15m targets. Mason Shaw looks good for the Dogs though!

Surprised he didnt get a second chance at AFL level.

Main will be a good pick up for us as well.

meanwhile connor blakely and weller are carving up against subi
Our 2nd year players, Duggan and nelson, have their feet up ready for round 1 in the league side. No pesky WAFL games for them

So redden should play against the lions ?

Guessing sheed is little to no chance.
He's the best chance of the players out there today. Wasn't that effective but ran the game out at least

Hutchings needs another week of WAFL to blow the cobwebs out. Sheed is no hope - very short of a gallop and I fear he may have aggravated the injury as he wasn't out there from midway through the third.

Not sure of numbers for Brisbane but I wouldn't be unhappy to see cole get a run

Well not sure what that game looked like in person beyond what those have already written but looking at the stats there doesn't seem a lot of upside. Seems like we played like a bunch of gootballers today.

The stats clearly point to a problem getting entries inside 50 (ie from outside our forward 50) and it sounds familiar to our first NAB game against Adelaide. EP seemed to have similar numbers of disposals but inside 50s were 26 to 55 against, and the Tiges had 30 scoring shots to EP's 9. Lucas led the inside 50 tally with 4 for EP and none of the other WC players seemed to be delivering inside 50 at all.

It's just a WAFL game but it's pretty embarrassing to get thumped when playing with that many AFL players (albeit mostly inexperienced ones). Sounds like our defensive depth is looking ok with Barrass and now Cole. But our midfield depth (especially from an attacking perspective) is still problematic. And we obviously rely heavily on good half forwards to get the ball inside 50, and don't seem to have many in reserve that can do that yet. Disappointing that it seems Giles, McInnes and Lamb didn't step up in our forward line when required.

Ended up watching the game from the grandstand with Keyser Soze. Someone got a snap of us during the third term.

Quick rundown of the Eagles out there:
Barrass: One of East's bests. Repelled a number of Tigers challenges. As I said earlier two of Wilkes' three majors came when he was off the ground. Cameron got a goal on him in the final term as well.

Cole: Impressed when he had the ball. Looked poised and tried to take the game on.

McInnes: Tried hard all day.

Karpany: Lively early, then no impact.

Lucas: Got a lot of it in the first half with little impact. So he had a typical Lucas game to that point. Copped a big hit in the third and wasn't seen again.

Hutchings and Redden: Both looked rusty and well short of a gallop.

Sheed: started brightly when he finally came on after quarter time. Saw him leave with the doctors in the third and was out on the ground with his boots off after the game but looked to be moving ok.

Lamb: Little impact. Moved onto a wing in the second half but that didn't seem to help.

Parto: Needs a year in the gym. Just too small to impact at all at this stage.

McGinnity: Played like McGinnity. Niggled the opposition and wasted most of his disposals.

Giles: Terrible. Got a Bronx cheer when he actually marked one in the last. Kicked the goal and seemed to lift after that but there was only a few minutes left.

Brophy: Rarely sighted.

Colledge: little impact. Played mostly as a forward until they lost Lucas and Sheed, then went into the middle.

Think that's everyone.
