Losing Judd is obvously massive for the club but to pick up a number of top25 picks is brilliant work.

They've already got a top tier midfield and with 5 (i think!) top 25picks this year are setting themselves up to be a top contender for years to come.

A trade week that could have ripped the club apart with the loss of their captain could in fact be the week they extended their premiership window by several years.

In addition to trading him to a team that will (probably) not be a realistic challenger for a flag for 3-4 years.
We are all thankful for that.

Dont want that many draft picks. We took 5 last year. 5 again is going to be too much.

And if Judd & Connors played ball, the eagles could have done much better.
Instead, they put the eagles in a position to accept whatever Carlton put on the table.

Still;
Eagles lose: Judd + Morton + pick 30
Eagles gain: picks 3 + 20 + 22

Not really that impressive

Decided to exclude Kennedy to make your stupid arguement seem plausible?

well done.

wce have insured their future and surely turned back the premiership clock.

You know it is good work but in reality Pick 3 is the biggie, 13 as a late 1st rounder was always in the mix. 20 & 22 as in any draft is a raffle - only time will tell.

Judd is still a massive loss in the short term.

Not too bad given that Judd made the call for you. I still think that Kennedy will turn into a good player. All things considered, you guys have come out close enough to holding your ground, which is great given that you have lost the best player going around.

WCE had a gameplan of getting as many top 30 picks as possible, and they executed it to perfection. Time will tell if they get any decent picks from the bunch, but going by their track record of player development, they'll do very well.

Other teams had other gameplans, Saints was to pick up a ruckman, small + medium forward, and tall defender - They got all four for essentially one pick. Carlton cared about Judd and Judd alone, and got him. Richmond looked to top up some weaknesses too, and did okay but paid over the asking price.

You lost Judd?

I don't think you 'dominated' at all.

I think you'll find it's your own kinsmen who made the statement

I don't think we dominated either

we lost the best midfielder (by a margin) in the competition and the best player produced at our club in 21 years

not much can replace that

Out of their hands. Judd was leaving reagardless, WC could have sat back, sulked, and held up all deals 'till 1:30 today, but instead got the deal they had to done and then got out there and made some big moves.

Compare what they've been able to get with what other clubs have produced this week - I'd say they came out bloddy well in the wash.

WC had a game plan to get pick 1 for Judd - don't try and glorify their position....

They failed.....
