The reality is pretty much not one person on here knows whether he's an excellent assistant coach or not. Personal biases towards him and disappointment at the clubs previous failures determine people's attitudes.

I have no idea whether it's a good appointment or not. However I believe that Brian Cook is the best in the business. If he is signing off these appointments then I am happy to get behind them.

Carlton tried a lot to get him to stay then he threatened to go into the draft.

Not sure what people are expecting from assistant coaches.Alan Richardson at Melbourne has done well and I’d say when he got appointed people would’ve been scratching their heads as coming from the Saints.

fair enough - seems there are differing opinions around the circumstances of him leaving - standing up to elliot gets my vote - leaving the club isn't a hanging offence

Posters complaining about Hamil returning, would you like some warm milk and teddy bears, are you going to be ok. Fair dinkum, get a grip, it's a business he was treated badly, he left due to being offered better circumstances. I loved him as a player but understood why he left. It happens, get over it. If he brings the mindset he had when he busted a gut for our great club, you will see a great improvement in our list.

That was 20 years ago and probably had more to with the way we were run than Aaron being a shit bloke. And that has borne out in the following years.

Neither of which seem relevant to wether he can coach.
